Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.

The industry heats the waste, spins it in a centrifuge to separate the fat, blasts it with ammonia gas to kill bacteria, presses it into bricks, flash-freezes it, and then sells it back to you as “beef.”

The Iranian navy, which has been destroyed eight times, has apparently closed the Strait of Hormuz again, because the United States, for the seventh time, won the war that wasn’t a war, so now the United States has to open the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the not-war began.

The not-war began because Iran had uranium that was totally, completely, beautifully obliterated, so they can’t build the nuclear bomb they weren’t building, which is why the United States had to start the not-war it definitely didn’t start.

A Jewish settler entered a cave dwelling used by Palestinians in Khirbet al-Rakeez in the southern Hebron Hills and shoved a woman to the ground while she was holding her baby.

In another incident captured on video, the same settler repeatedly struck the family’s guard dog with a stick.

No epistemic caution.

The word "allegedly" is a small word that performs an enormous function.

It quarantines doubt.

It applies uncertainty surgically, to specific claims, made by specific people, specifically the people whose deaths and suffering the powerful would prefer you to hold at arm's length.

It is a one-word editorial policy.

It is a one-word verdict on whose testimony counts.

💢 Six-year-old girl and a woman killed in Israeli attack on tent in Khan Younis

The United States continues to facilitate Israel’s daily killing of Palestinian civilians, through full military and political support as Israel ignores the Trump-brokered ceasefire.

Minattallah Nabil Abu Libdah, 6, was killed Monday in an Israeli attack on a tent in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. She had reportedly been recovering from a broken arm at the time of her death. Footage shows her father crying uncontrollably at the hospital next to her lifeless body.

A second person, 31-year-old woman Hanan Mahmoud, was also killed in the Israeli attack, according to reporting by Mosab Abu Toha.
