I am thoroughly and finally convinced that the problem with kids and cell phones is actually about parents and cell phones. It’s not the kids. Parents, please demand that your kids’ schools go phone-free. If there’s an emergency, call the school office like your parents did!

America, anyone working with students grades K-12 needs to read these 2 books this summer. Bottom line: the best environment for kids is a phone-free, anti-safetyist world where parents are more concerned about their kids’ moral & emotional health than their resumes for college.

I’m 66 pages into this book. You don’t have to agree with Haidt’s conclusions or recommendations to realize the overwhelming data showing that it’s really naive & foolish to give kids smart phones with social media apps while their brains are still developing (before age 16+).
