@indycarpodcast It should have been thrown one lap sooner. Having them drive back through the accident scene rather than coming into the pits the first time around was the mistake. Then they could have had a proper warmup lap and still gone green with one to go.

@johnburnsnc The safety car for Leclerc was really poorly timed for Sainz since he started on hards and then the slow stop and subsequent unsafe release penalty made it worse. The way the race played out, if he had started on mediums instead of hards, he likely would have been on the podium.

@johnburnsnc Medium tires weren’t going to last until the end and he still had the 5 second penalty coming. Couldn’t take the chance of two DNFs, so take the certain top 5 and a chance at fastest lap.
