He quit two months ago because Starmer refused to agree to 3% of GDP on defence spending.
Now he’s chancellor @JohnHealey_MP has himself now shelved his own plan of spending 3% of GDP on defence.
A more corrupt bunch of grubby frauds you will not find.
Six months ago I warned democracy in the UK is being undermined by Muslim sectarianism.
Now, police say they are exploring election interference in FIFTY polling stations in Birmingham.
Some of us can see what’s happening to this country
I think it will be well understood by very many voters.
1. Minister resigns because defence spending is too low.
2. Minister returns to a job where he can fix the problem he resigned over.
3. Minister refuses to do so.
It absolutely exemplifies the careerism and cynicism of too many in politics.
https://t.co/T1fwU7Ky4d… this couple left the uk, slating it & its people at every possible opportunity, selling every secret they could, saying they wanted to live OUT of the spotlight… then proceeded to do the exact opposite. I do not want my tax pounds spent on them.
If you worked all your life, saved £15k, you will contribute to your care home costs.
If you saved over £23k, you will pay all your care home costs, your home may count as part of £23k.
If you never worked the same care home will be provided cost free.
Who is the idiot.
"Importing people directly into the welfare system is just madness. Housing is a scarce resource in Britain, and social housing scarcer still; having three quarters of any stock of it occupied by people who moved to this country to live in it is an absurdity."
@bphillipsonMP The evidence shows overwhelmingly that children are more likely to achieve better outcomes if they are brought up in a home with two parents rather than one. So naturally that’s the model that society should try to encourage. Why do you regard it as a heresy to say such a thing?
Please! Is there nobody who can make this virtue-signalling bollocks stop?
Why does he think we give a monkey’s what he thinks?
He has zero qualifications/knowledge to opine on such matters.
He’s ‘sorry’ the world is not a better place than it is. With that sort of penetrating philosophical insight an Oxbridge professorship must surely beckon, toute suite.
He’s just reading a vacuous script his wife wrote for him.
If we had a whip round couldn’t we pay for them to stay in Montecito? I’d contribute.
To be absolutely clear:
1. Yes, it was a brief to papers.
2. No, Penny isn't blocked at the moment.
3. Mordaunt fan club can chill out - the story isn't about her, but about how to settle questions within the party.
I have no skin in the game re: Penny. She seems to be a committed conservative who might have blurted something silly out re: transwomen but since then clarified what she meant.
I trust the selection process and will personally be happy with either outcome. As long as @KemiBadenoch is happy.
The headline to Matthew Syed’s column in the Sunday Times reads; If migrants need to be told rape is bad why are we welcoming them?
Be interested in the response by any Labour politician.
While our Prime Minister was making videos about which pork scratchings he likes best, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was rescuing Runcorn from the effects of the government’s own energy policy.
This plant helps keep our drinking water safe and supplies the chemicals used in medicines, power cables, pipes and homes.
Lose that capacity and Britain becomes dependent on foreign suppliers for the essentials of our daily lives.
Britain cannot make everything. But no serious country allows energy costs and carbon taxes to destroy its last domestic source of critical materials.
Labour are not serious…but we are. Watch @clairecoutinho tell you more about how Conservatives will get cheaper cleaner energy in the thread below 👇
Goodness me 🤦♀️ we are living in a country where we have to send out leaflets explaining woman & children shouldn’t be raped.
It doesn’t get much lower than that.
