.@JamesTalarico: There's been a lot of talk in this race about what it means to be a real man.
Recently on the campaign trail I told the story of my adoptive dad, Mark Talarico. Every Saturday morning, he would mow our lawn, and then without anyone asking him to, he would go next door and mow our neighbor's lawn because she was a widow. My dad never talked about it — he just did it, because that's what a man does.
A man takes responsibility, upholds his commitments to his family and his neighbors, and does what's right, even when no one is watching.
Here's what real men don't do. They don't lie and cheat their way through life, sell their soul to the highest bidder, or steal from other people in order to enrich themselves. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.
I welcome this debate about what it means to be a man, and I don't think Ken Paxton or Ted Cruz are in a position to tell anybody what a real man is.
BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s own lawyer just endorsed James Talarico:
“I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases. But in my view, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.
And unlike Ken, I believe that you, James, believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats but Independents and Republicans and we need that right now.
We need unity, we don't need any more division and that's why I'm supporting you.”
Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum.
And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them.
And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded — 15, the top 15 — not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."
The dirty mailers and TV ads that are bombarding you right now are lies.
The truth is, I've never voted for funding to transition children. What I voted for was Senate Bill 14 in 2023, which banned all transitioning surgeries as well as hormone replacement therapies for children. It requires doctors to follow the law, and if they don't, they can lose their license. That's what I voted for.
In more recent history, 2025, when President Trump signed the Riley Gaines Act, Texas acted. House Bill 229 came through the State Affairs Committee, of which I'm the chair.
I put it on the House floor at its first availability and we passed it. That bill gives a clear definition in statute, of what is a man and what is a woman based on their biological sex. That has never happened before in the state of Texas and it happened under my leadership.
Finally, we passed Senate Bill 8 so in public buildings, men are not allowed in women's private spaces. That bill could not have happened without a statutory definition of a man and a woman.
Both pieces of legislation came through my committee and my leadership, and I'm proud of the work we did.
But it doesn't stop there. I will always support laws that protect women and children. God created man and God created woman. And no person can change that. I will always vote to uphold the truth.
The dirty mailers and radio spots bombarding you are lies.
John Browning’s campaign is run out of Austin by big-city consultants with a fake scorecard, funded by a billionaire.
The RESULTS are why Ken King is endorsed by President Trump, Governor Abbott and Senator Cruz:
✅ When kids needed protection from woke ideologies, Ken King voted to ban transition surgery in minors
✅ When girls and women needed protection in sports and bathrooms, Ken King fought for them
✅ When wildfires hit, Ken King stopped his campaign to save cattle and lives
✅ When firefighters needed equipment, Ken King found funding
✅ When teachers and retirees needed raises, Ken King said yes
The proof is in his votes. Ken King is always there to fight for our West Texas values.
@DavidCookTexas Texas constitution gives the Lt Gov a lot of power. He does not need more. He is the one that has created an oligarchy not 25 Republican members of the house.
