Matei Zaharia, Professor at UC Berkeley and Cofounder/CTO of Databricks, has won the ACM Prize in Computing, donating the $250k Infosys prize to AddisCoder. We are extremely grateful for this gift, which we will use to advance our mission of increasing access in computer science.
This past week, AOA and the Ethiopian Mathematics Professionals Association collaborated to train students for the July PanAfrican math and informatics olympiads in Kigali. 10 AddisCoder alums participated in the informatics training, and six will represent Ethiopia in Kigali.

Congrats to Akotet Yeshaw Tesema (AddisCoder'19) for graduating summa cum laude from KAIST with a degree in computer science. He is now continuing his MS at KAIST, working on ML/graph neural networks.

Congratulations to Misgina Gebretsadik Kahsay (AddisCoder'16), who after completing his Bachelor's at Mekelle Institute of Technology has now just been accepted with a full @MastercardFdn scholarship to pursue a Master's at Arizona State.

Jack studied in Gambella while residing with his parents and 5 siblings in Kule Refugee Camp. He earned a scholarship to finish high school in Addis, and now will be the first in his family to go to college.
