It’s heartbreaking how expensive it is to have kids nowadays. I’ve got three children, so I know how much everything costs. Nappies, formula, nursery fees, school, clothes, even just keeping a roof over their heads. I’m very lucky that I’m in a position to afford this. My parents had me well over 30 years ago, and back then, raising a family was tough but doable. Now, I’ve got so many mates in their 30s and 40s who would love kids but feel like they can’t afford them. These are full time working employed mates. Who are struggling to get on the property ladder. Scared to have children because they feel like they can’t provide the best life because of financial worries. That’s not right.
And here’s something shocking i learnt when listening to a debate in the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday night. Only 20% of newborns in London are born to English parents who are working. What’s happening? Are we, as a country, choosing not to have kids because we’ve made it too difficult? It’s scary when you think about where this leads to!!
We need to step up and make it easier for people to start families again. So how we gonna do that?
More affordable childcare:- Nursery fees are a joke. If we made them cheaper, more parents could actually afford to work and raise a family.
Tax breaks for working families:- Give working parents proper financial support, whether it’s tax relief on childcare or better maternity and paternity pay.
Cheaper housing:- So many couples can’t even afford a house, let alone think about having kids. We need more affordable homes so families have a place to grow. 30 years ago buying a house in london to start a family was tough, due doable. Now it’s practically impossible.
Support for new parents:- Raising children is tough, especially for young parents (I know I have 3 little ones). More community support, parenting classes, and mental health services could make a massive difference.
At the end of the day, why are hardworking people being punished for wanting children? If you go out, graft and work hard, you should be able to provide for a family and start one, not be priced out of having one. It’s time to have a serious conversation and start putting families first again. Let’s build our future.
What do you all think?
Bosh❤️

We are thrilled to announce the signing of 34 year old midfielder Rob Wilson.
Another vastly experienced player added to the Rammy ranks, Rob started his career with Lancaster City back in 2008 and had three spells at the Giant Axe making over 250 appearances.
Manager Steve Wilkes commented on Rob's arrival, "Another fantastic addition to the club".
"Rob will bring us quality on the ball and he's another player with experience from playing above. I've tried to sign Rob on numerous occassions so I'm really pleased to have finally got him."
Rob also spent time at Workington, narrowly losing a play off final to Bernard and Jonno's Salford City before spending the last couple of seasons as captain at Kendal Town scoring 18 goals in the process.
"I'm so happy to be joining Ramsbottom", said Rob.
"I’ve known Wilkesy for quite a few years and I’ve played with Teaguey previously, so I’m looking forward to the new challenge under them."
"I’ve always enjoyed playing at the HWRS with opposing teams, so I’m hoping this season can be a successful one."
Welcome to Rammy, Rob!
I just found out that there's been 43,482 suicides in the world already and it's only the first month of 2024.
75% of these are men.
Check in on your mates tonight, you could genuinely save a life.
No one should feel alone with their problems because we all struggle and there's absolutely no shame in needing support.

What is going on at camp England . Who is allowing Gareth to make these downright criminal decisions .
Southgate not fit for purpose as the England gaffer . It’s time we started demanding him to be moved on. ⚽️
Football has gone utterly utterly barmy hasn’t it . Declan rice is a decent footballer . I like him a lot he does the basics very well . 105 M ? that is utterly astounding for a plain mcvities digestive footballer ⚽️
Pep “If I want to buildup from left, I’ll always play Laporte, If I want defenders in the box I play Ake and Dias. If I want runners in midfield Foden and Gundo are the best. If my tactics work they say I’m genius, if it doesn’t they say I’m overthinking”

"Absolutely. That's exactly what I'm saying."

A neglected problem in Britain is that the whole political class hates everybody in the country and is largely indifferent to whether they starve or freeze to death
