There was a day my mom went to the market. But on this fateful day she didn't return when she was supposed to. My father was restless. He was trying her number non stop but it wasn't going through.
He had to call some of her friends in the same market, they said the last time they saw my mom was around 5pm when she was going home. Omoh my pap wan collapse.
He wanted to call my elder siblings who weren't living with us, I told him to chill that he shouldn't call them that mummy will be back soon. And besides, what were they going to do from their various places at that time of the day.
It is almost 9pm my mum wasn't back yet. Due to the stress I went through that day I didn't even know when I dozed off. The next thing I heard was someone tearing me slap.
"So we couldn't find your mum and you are sleeping. Are you not a bastard like this"? He shouted.
The next thing he does was calling my elder siblings and told them we couldn't find my mom. After back and forth he just told me..... " Ade oya let's go out there and look for your mom". I couldn't believe my ears cos it was raining lightly.
I have no choice than obey him. So we left the house around 9pm and trekked to the bus stop. Cold wan kee me. I literally had no idea where we were heading to. There was no bike and it was just literally me and him wandering around.
When the rain was becoming heavier we found a shelter to hid under. For almost an hour we were there. Both of us were almost freezing but this man wouldn't want us to go back home. I asked him where are we going per se when the rain stops he said he doesn't know, we sha must go find her.
My elder siblings were also calling back and forth. After spending almost an hour there, guess who's coming from afar on a bike? My mum, with her stuffs from the market.
I looked at my dad's face, he had frowned pretending to be angry. As the bike draws nearer and my mom was hopping down from it, my dad just turned back and headed back home. I was just wondering that no be this man dey panic now say he never see him wife?
When me and my mom got inside the house I found my dad frowning his face like a movie villain. I was like it's about to go down tonight.
My mom greeted him and to my surprise he responded back immediately as if he hadn't seen her in years. Then my mom proceed to explain why she was late. It rained heavily and there was an accident on the road which caused a very big traffic jam, and she also had to wait at the bus stop for a long time before she could see a bike.
I thought he was even going to do small shakara so that she can know the kind of struggle we went through. Guess what my father said? "Eeyah pele dear, se ojo o sha pa e"? (eeyah sorry dear, hope you weren't drenched by the rain?), She too was like, "ojo pami o oko mi"(I was drenched by the rain my husband).
I was standing there angry watching both of them displaying their love. The next thing that broke the camel's back and got me more angrier was when my dad now said; "Ade oya go and boil water for your mommy to baff".......
Omoh I wan craze.
At the end, it shows how they both mean and care for each other even till this moment. They've been married close to fifty years now and their marriage has always been an inspiration for me that I'll marry right and I will marry well.

@Bayo_Bilisi I have always maintained that these people don't really care. All their cries are politically motivated. In fact some of them are just envious of that beautiful festival—they only needed the Oyo tragedy to justify it.
