I vividly recall playing football in ISL '1993 after playing, we all take turns to wash our legs, face and then drink water from the tap AND not get sick, there was nothing like boreholes or pure water sachets then. Clean Potable Water was supplied by the water works .
Today the people of Lagos island are desperate for water, the very same Lagos Island, Darocha was supplying water through pipes he laid from Iju to Lagos island as far back as 1910.
It is time for a Lagos that works for you, A lagos that revolves around maximising your quality of life, from the most basic things like potable water to the more complex such as affordable housing and affordable intermodal transportation. #ourlagos
Yesterday's Advocates of democracy, Today's Oppressor of the Press
Nigeria is drifting dangerously.
At a time when our nation should be strengthening its vital democratic institutions, we are witnessing a pattern that shows the opposite. The recent notice by the National Broadcasting Commission, especially at this critical time of the general elections, is very troubling.
A free and responsible media should not be an enemy to any administration, especially one that claims to have fought for democracy. The media is the conscience of the nation. Attempting to stifle voices, moderate opinions, or intimidate journalists under the guise of regulation only weakens our already fragile democracy.
Institutions are not built to serve governments; they are built to serve the people.
At a time when insecurity is on the rise, young Nigerians are losing faith in the country, and the economy continues to fail the average citizen. Our focus should not be on controlling media narratives, but on delivering results.
Nigeria does not need stronger control. Nigeria needs stronger institutions. I stand in solidarity with Nigeria’s media houses and broadcasters who are standing against this attempt to silence independent voices and restrict free expression.
We must return to the path of transparency, accountability, and true independence of all arms and agencies of government. We cannot continue to endanger our democracy.

You’re a Nigerian youth ( probably in your late 30s) no job , no car
And there are kids abroad as young as 16 getting jobs ( customer service jobs , even McDonalds) they’re able to buy their first car
And you want me to convince you on why you should vote Tinubu out ?? You’re even on here doing on your mandate you shall stand ?!
Are you not ashamed of yourself? Think about your life tonight before you sleep .
News - Hundreds have been killed in an attack by bandits including Major Generals.
Tinubu -🧑🏾🦯
News - ADC holds National Convention.
Tinubu - You can’t scare me off.
Note: The day the husband (Ruling party) says to the wife (Opposition) that “I am not scared of you”, that day he seizes to be the head of that house.

Nigeria Is Bleeding From Within
It is deeply troubling to read recent World Bank reports indicating that, while Nigeria’s Federation Revenue surged to ₦84 trillion in just three years, a staggering 41% amounting to ₦34.44 trillion —never reached the Federation Account. This sum exceeds the combined ₦34 trillion earmarked for capital projects in the 2024 and 2025 Appropriation Bills, a comparison that underscores the gravity of the situation and signals that something is fundamentally wrong.
This is not a mere oversight; it points to institutionalised corruption on a massive scale. In 1994, when the Okigbo Panel reported about $12.4 billion from the Gulf War oil windfall as unaccounted for, Nigerians were outraged and the nation shook with indignation. Today, an even more troubling situation appears to be unfolding, yet it is met with a disquietening silence.
We are trapped in a lethal paradox: Earning more as a nation, yet having less to invest in healthcare, education, and infrastructure. From 2025, systemic “deductions” have allowed agencies to capture more resources than entire states and even critical ministries.
These leakages explain why countries with fewer resources are out-performing us across key development indices. With such a broken system, how can we fix power, strengthen our schools, build resilient healthcare, or develop critical infrastructure?
Nigeria has no business being poor. We must stop these leakages through disciplined, transparent leadership driven by character. It is time to redirect our hijacked resources back to the people and move Nigeria into the league of developed nations.
With our collective resolve to change this corruption-infested system, a New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
what I’m very sure of is that this government will affect everyone. kunle afolayan and wizkid literally complained about fuel prices. dangote will soon start tweeting like a bullied secondary school student, while otedola retweets for him.
I wish I had the time to watch how the story unfolds over the next four years, but unfortunately, I don’t.
we’ve had enough of this tomfoolery; insecurity, economic instability, a collapsing grid, and weak government systems.
whether you like it or not, that dracula is leaving next year.

Remove emotions from your heart and reflect on this.
Why do so many Nigerian influencers like VDM and Tunde Onakoya, aka the Chess Man, prefer a failing nation like Nigeria so their self-proclaimed goodwill can continue to speak louder for them?
Instead of joining the millions of Nigerians who are calling for the government to do its basic job so that everyone can thrive, they have chosen to become celebrities in the graveyard of our collective failure.
Look at VDM. The man would rather fly around building boreholes and class room and posting viral videos of grateful villagers drinking water than use that same massive platform to demand why, in 2026, millions of Nigerians still lack clean water, electricity, or basic infrastructure that any serious government should have provided decades ago.
He prefers to be the hero fixing what the government deliberately abandoned. In a functional Nigeria, his saviour brand loses its shine.
The same applies to Tunde Onakoya, the Chess Man. He takes vulnerable children and families, the very ones this government’s bad policies have kept poor, uneducated, and hopeless, and turns their hardship into feel-good content, Guinness records, international praise, and personal enrichment. Teaching chess is beautiful, but when you keep profiting from the poverty the system manufactured without ever calling out the system itself, you are not a solution, you are part of the business model.
These influencers are not stupid. They understand the game perfectly: a broken, suffering Nigeria is the perfect stage for their philanthropy performances.
This is not activism. This is opportunism wearing the mask of compassion.
Nigerians, it is time we open our eyes. We must be extremely careful about the kind of people we elevate into the hall of fame and crown as national heroes.
It is patriotic to demand a Nigeria that works for all of us, not just for the influencers who shine brightest when the rest of us are in darkness.
Peter Obi went on Arise News first. Pointed out all the wrong this administration was doing. Marketed himself and the ADC. Didn't say Zilch about any of his opponents in the party
Atiku went to the same channel, same program, and threw his fellow northern aspirants in the ADC under the bus. Reduced them and inflated himself to God status
Rotimi Amaechi, characteristics of his style went to a different National TV station, Channels TV, and impaled all his fellow Aspirants with a blunt spear like Vlad the impaler
Called Obi an Igbo candidate, Atiku a Fulani candidate, and himself the only Nigerian candidate.
I know Kwankwaso will have an outing soon, but amongst the 3 candidates that spoken to Nigerians so far, only one had an iasue based, statistic driven exemplary interview, and it's nor a debate - PETER OBI
Nigeria will be OK
The news of the abduction of innocent UTME candidates in Benue State is not just heartbreaking but a damning indictment of the failure of leadership and the collapse of security in our nation.
Young Nigerians striving for an education are being met with terror. In a country where the share of tertiary graduates is already painfully low (about 1%) which is far below peers like Indonesia (about 13%) and South Africa (around 10%). This is unacceptable. We cannot afford to lose even one more student to violence.
Those entrusted with protecting these young students appear increasingly preoccupied with the next election, projecting strength and power to rig elections, rather than deploying that same power and agencies to secure our roads, prevent these crimes, and rescue the abducted children who should not be in the hands of criminals but in examination halls.
This is no longer an isolated tragedy. It is a pattern. It is a national crisis. And it demands urgent, decisive, and responsible action, not excuses, not silence, but leadership that matches the scale of the emergency this deserves.
A nation that abandons its youth abandons its future. This cannot continue.

I mistakenly listened to Tinubu on arise news 📍
I need recommendations…books or anything that can help me regain my IQ and mental edge back.
This man too DULL 😭
This election season, do not give audience to fools. Anyone trying to dampen your morale, anyone telling you it’s impossible to unseat Tinubu, anyone telling you your votes won’t count, anyone saying Peter Obi is like the rest of them, etc. Ignore or block them. Don’t engage them. They seek validation for their thoughts to feel relevant. Ignore them and move ahead. Those are agents of distraction.
I will say it again, the average thug can’t be reasoned with. It’s a total waste of time.
Take this one for example, what do you want to tell him? He neither cares for morality or even his own sociopolitical right, which he has willingly sold for money.
He strongly believes if he kiss the ring long enough, snatch enough ballot boxes, and go to war consistently for the right person, he too, can become like those men he mentioned who rose from poverty to riches by walking the path he’s now threading.
He can’t be reasoned with. You can’t appear to his conscience. Politics is about self interest and he has identified his own. So why should he care for yours?
The solution is for Nigerians to make it clear to people like him that their determination to make their votes count far surpass his desire to make his masters happy.
That’s the only way.
Your votes actually count.
Parts of it gets rigged, but it counts. If it doesn't, politicians won't invest hundreds of millions in vote buying. Rigging is mathematically limited, and if the gap is huge enough, you can't close it.

At 3 a.m., the night refuses me sleep, not because the darkness is kind, but because it mirrors the suffocating void we have become as a country.
Bola Tinubu’s speech yesterday was not a policy address; it was a confession. Cold, arrogant and dripping with the mediocrity we have learned to expect, it exposed the man who wears the title of president yet carries no heartbeat for the people he rules. There is no plan for our lives, none for the bread we cannot afford, none for the futures we are watching rot.
With shameless pride he once declared himself 100 % heir to Buhari’s despicable legacy, chest puffed, conscience anaesthetised. Yet tomorrow, his hired voices will spin the fairy tale that he arrived to “correct” the very ruin he helped crown. The contradiction is not clever; it is obscene. It is the kind of lie that slaps every suffering face and dares us to call it governance.
I am not angry alone, I am afraid. Afraid for my children, for every Nigerian child whose tomorrow has already been auctioned to fund the banquet tables of this government. They have no blueprint except for themselves. No vision except their own survival.
And in that naked truth, hope does not flicker. It dies quietly, mercilessly, while the rest of us lie awake wondering how much deeper this grave can still be dug.
For the second time, guys.
If you live in Nigeria and have no financial strength to relocate anytime soon, treat the 2027 election as a priority. See it like your life depends on it, because in actual sense, it does.
Listen to me: Tinubu will be ruthless with policies if he wins again. The economic frustrations will push many to the edge of suicide. Nobody will come to your rescue.
After 2027, Tinubu, Akpabio, and most governors will be done. No more elections. They will definitely have nothing to lose.
They’ll retire comfortably in their mansions scattered across the US, Canada, UK, and Europe… while regret becomes your daily meal.
Be smart with your vote in 2027.
