@OnswitchLtd@agavet Altruism = (an enduring tendency) to help others even at a risk or cost to oneself.. Society expects altruism in veterinarians (and other health and helping vocations). Veterinarians expect it of themselves (being members of society). @OnswitchLtd@agavet#veterinarian#ethics
@vedihealth Fabulous to meet you at #AVA2023. This universal health record platform linked to our patients microchip. A simple and elegant innovation that will add value for both the vet and client for best practice patient care.. Thanks for bringing this to us, Dr Steve
@FrontVetScience The altruism research! Vets are quite diverse in their balance of other- and self-interest. With positive and neg implications.

New Research: Altruism or self-interest in tomorrow's veterinarians? A metric conjoint experiment and cluster analysis: Introduction
Altruism is considered a trait of veterinary and other health professionals, but the level of altruism in… https://t.co/DkEJVMXMnv #VetScience
@KarenHeathAlle2@choo_ek Laughing with you here. I took our dogs (heart) meds one morning when downing my calcium and B vitamins while packing kids lunches. Heart was going boom boom an hour later. 💓 At least I wasn’t going woof woof🐕🦺🐾
@WhellumAnthony@saintslugger@marshall_steven SA’s low rate is BECAUSE SA folk use PPE early, Has a smaller and more spread population, drier climate, health officials (w govt support) instigate measures early, and our vulnerable groups are not as large as VIC and NSW. Delta is virulent compared to alpha!
@WhellumAnthony@saintslugger@marshall_steven Indeed we in SA have enjoyed zero spread from several delta challenges (e.g. infected truck drivers) due to their and locals use of PPE.
@saintslugger@marshall_steven Masks reduce the ‘load’ of virus coughed and sneezed at others by those who are infected (vaccinated or unvaccinated, clinical or not, in the first few days). Highly vacc’d communities without masks (eg UK) are NOT doing well in terms of hospitalisations🦠🤧 🤒 cf those who do.😷
@timcarabott@marshall_steven Do you not get it @timcarabott? Masks will be even more necessary after November 23rd. Just look at countries with low mask rates - their cases are soaring even with high vaccination rates. Maybe have a break from masks in SA til nov 23rd THEN back on after we open up.
@DrCEWylie Agree an absolutely sad day and so frustrating. With respect, may we rephrase this as NSW (state government’s) COVID debacle i.e. not locking down hard and fast at the start, even when warned of the Delta strain known risks e.g. by AMA and epidemiologists.
@johncutlefish Opportunity evaluation document best describes this type of document for me - ie a combination of ‘job(s) to be done’ and match to firm or teams capabilities/strengths. But not going as far as full value proposition design
@r_swanson1 @dedmon_walking @jess_froe @AcademicChatter Add - eye mist or eye drops and a green or orange blanket to drape over your huge (mobile) whiteboard to convert it into a green screen like background !
@r_swanson1 @dedmon_walking @jess_froe @AcademicChatter Huge White board, shelves for the papers you print, Wobble board, 3/4 stool, Physio inflatable cushions for chair and stool, faithful loving dogs w you all day 🐕🦺🐾 and an egg timer set every 20-30mins to get u up or down.
@tevalegan@Julaberry@della79 Me too. Regularly received vegemite and lettuce , but not good memories at all! Never crispy and no protein to make it worth eating...now cheese and lettuce - yum and great memories.
