@NateSibley I really enjoyed the “Making a Killing” podcast a few years ago. I would love an episode of you guys discussing this change and it’s implications around the world.
@_TimCartmell It's extremely possibly to say both "we have an ongoing crisis with fentanyl that we're not doing a good job of handling" *and* "these disingenuous bastards in Washington don't give a shit about people ODing in their own country, much less in Edmonton. To hell with them"
@_TimCartmell Yeah Tim, I also think we should take the guys threatening to smash up our economy totally at face value. What other motivation could they possibly have? Sure they're idly fantasizing about annexing our country, but I'm sure they're totally honest and clear-eyed about this thing.
@laurby Your questions were absolutely fair and I’m glad you were asking them. McFee is a very important public figure, and has to face some level of scrutiny and accountability. His responses were not acceptable.
You did good here; he didn’t.
@RolloFinnback @NukenDuke88 @DarkClintonism@esjesjesj I got through this entire exchange before properly noticing your excellent name pun and profile pic. Cheers!
On this day in 1917, the Mont-Blanc exploded in Halifax Harbour, releasing a 2.9 kiloton explosion.
The largest human-made explosion in history to that point, it killed nearly 2,000 people and injured 9,000.
Let's learn about this dark day.

@Cat_Mom365@BMarchetich@mehdirhasan I can see how NATO members on Russia’s borders seems provocative, but if we refused to let, say, Lithuania join because they were in Russia’s “sphere of influence”, we’re just accepting that small countries should be vassals of their more powerful neighbours.
@Cat_Mom365@BMarchetich@mehdirhasan I guess it depends on whether you think the people of the Baltic and Eastern Europe (including Ukraine) have the agency to democratically decide their own futures. You can take issue with US/NATO policy, but no one forced these places to join NATO.
@BMarchetich@mehdirhasan If Palestinians have a right to self-determination (and to not be bombed to death by their neighbour), then Ukrainians do as well.
@BMarchetich@mehdirhasan I’m with you on most of this, but allowing Ukraine to strike military targets in Russia is “escalating the war”? It’s been two years on Russia systematically demolishing civilian infrastructure and terror-bombing apartment buildings and hospitals.
@UbakaOgbogu@CBC I don’t love that sentiment, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t do a great job on this issue. If I can ask, which pieces of theirs did you find so bad?
@Local_Numbskull@WolfofHobbiton I thought the exact same. I’d never seen it before in all my cumulative time on the internet, then twice in the past month. After the first time seeing it, I legit had it stuck in my head for a week.
When Save the Children, one of the world’s most respected and trusted charities calls it a “war on children”, listen and act. When UNICEF, the children’s agency, we all grew up supporting, reports from the scene on the daily, massive maiming and killing of children, listen & act.
@Suboutai_Khan @hollowearthterf@arkadiafarm There are lots of jobs that have real, tangible results from labour. Any number of jobs in trades, industry and construction let you look at a physical thing you’ve created or fixed. Also, if she really loves farming, she could go do that. But you can’t do it from the DC suburbs

Doctors without Borders is outraged by the repeated killings of our staff in #Gaza and calls for an immediate halt on attacks of medical personnel, humanitarian workers and civilians.
