Every day when you wake up in the tech space, promise yourself to kill envy, and support excellence. Na all of us dey trenches.

Many of these tech bros talking down on LagosLife realize say no be by to prompt Claude.

E pain them. 😂

[UG @UgwunnaEjikem]

I know nothing about tech or TechTwitter but I swear I can sense some thinly veiled pain exuding from some tech bros when analyzing the LagosLife game & its founder.

Some snide remarks about how she used “Claude” & all lol why una no first her run am?

One thing I’ve learnt is to stop adding features to your product to play keep up, knowing the fact that your product is not even stable at all.

Just adding features even introduces more bugs.

There are 3 types of engineers that would encounter this question.

This first type gives the default answer. The second gives a textbook correct answer. The third asks a question back.

[chinedu🦀 @chinedu_10]

An interviewer asked: “You have 10 DB connections, 500 concurrent requests, you can’t increase the limit. What do you do?”

I gave 5 answers most devs only think of one 👇🏾👇🏾

I once joined a company with one goal in mind: to make a real impact.

I came in motivated, full of ideas, and ready to build systems that would make work smoother for everyone.

A few months later, that motivation was gone.

Not because the work was difficult.
Not because of the tech stack.
Not because of the people.

Guess what changed?

If you’ve worked in the industry long enough, you’ve probably seen this pattern before.

Take a guess.

No BS Career advice: Before you take ownership of a project, know the extent of the autonomy you have on the project, if not you'll get burned in the most unrewarding way possible.

These advice I share are from the mistakes I've made in my own career journey.

Take it or leave it.

Quick tip: Don't install trae code editor, it has lots of vunerability and also never use it to ssh into your vps. It secretly creates a backdoor to your server

Pewbeam is live 🎉

This was just a dream, a dream I didn’t even know was possible—but I decided to pursue it anyway. Today, that dream is now a reality. We have a desktop app (Windows and macOS—this weekend) that can do all of this and even more. Over the last six months, I’ve pushed myself and my team hard, and I’ve seen people become hopeful and genuinely blessed by this product. I’ve received strong support from pastors, church members, techies, and several media houses and reporters. It has been a great honor to spend myself on something worthwhile.

Weve built an AI-native presentation app that displays relevant scriptures on screen in under 80 ms, without needing a volunteer. We’re starting with scriptures, but we’re growing into a comprehensive presentation software, with slides launching next month.

From testing @pewbeam_ai in churches over the last four weeks, pastors have been able to focus on what matters instead of juggling or micromanaging the media team while preaching. Church members have been able to follow their pastor’s references in real time and take better notes. In the words of a member from one of the test churches: “Pewbeam changed the way I follow sermons in church completely.” This is the kind of impact I see Pewbeam having on people’s faith and on how church and worship are done.

Pewbeam’s mission is to ensure the Church is not left behind in the AI era. We’re starting with this application, with many more to come in the next few months. We’ll keep working with stakeholders in the Christian faith, collect feedback, and build tools that better support discipleship. And unlike previous waves of technology, I believe we can be among the first movers in this AI revolution.

With all that said, the final build of the app is ready, and we’re launching for public download on February 25, 2026. The app has a generous free tier for small churches and fellowships, and a paid plan (location-based pricing) that unlocks unlimited access to all features.

If you’ve been following this journey, I appreciate you, and I assure you it will be worth it.

Please download, subscribe, and use in your church.

Because idempotency applies to the final state, not the side effects.

- Calling it multiple times may still:
- Trigger logs, metrics, emails, webhooks
- Cause duplicate downstream calls
- Hit external systems that are not idempotent

State stays the same, but side effects can still happen.

This is what I can’t stand about LinkedIn.

Dude wrote a whole TED Talk because he had to multiply a number by 100.

That’s the entire post.

Paystack charges in kobo. You multiply by 100. It’s literally in the documentation. You can’t miss it.

But no. Instead of spending 30 seconds reading the docs, he turned it into an existential crisis about the state of modern software. “Why should something this simple become this technical?” It didn’t, bro. You just didn’t read the docs.

Then he switches to KoraPay and suddenly it’s a revelation. “The difference was immediate.” Yeah, bro, the difference was that you actually read the second API’s documentation this time 😂😂

KoraPay is a solid platform, nothing against them, but using “I confused myself with basic arithmetic” as the foundation for a public platform comparison is crazy.

And the grand finale: he ties the whole thing to “the AI era,” the future of software, clarity, usability, the soul of technology.

Bro, you built a payment form on https://t.co/CunWTWFMN7. You’re dragging and dropping components. Which is absolutely fine, no shame in that at all.

But don’t write a manifesto about the future of engineering like you just shipped a distributed payments engine from scratch.

Every sentence in that post gets its own paragraph like he’s narrating a funeral. The dramatic pauses. The buildup. The “Here’s what happened.”

Bro, what happened is you didn’t read the docs. That’s the whole story.

LinkedIn is genuinely a very funny place😂😂😂

I almost leaked customer data between two farms in production.

A farmer in Lagos nearly saw egg production data from a 60,000-bird operation in Tanzania.

One missed WHERE clause. That's all it would have taken.

Here's the architecture that prevents it.

SmartFarmAI manages poultry farms from 200 to 100,000 birds.
All on one database. Same tables. Same code.

The challenge: absolute data isolation between tenants.

I solved it with Rust + Actix-web + PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.

The trick: every request starts a DB transaction,
sets a LOCAL tenant variable, and Postgres RLS
policies automatically filter every query.

No manual WHERE clauses. The database enforces it.

The bug that almost burned me: PostgreSQL session variables persist on pooled connections.

If you set tenant context with SESSION scope, the next request on that connection inherits the WRONG tenant.

Silent. Intermittent. Only shows up under production load.

Another production lesson:

I enabled RLS on my outbox table.
Background worker fetched zero events.
Hundreds queued. No errors. No warnings.

RLS was silently filtering everything because
the worker had no tenant context.

Took me hours to figure out.

Woke up this morning thinking about the quality of life I’m living in this country, literally all my life I’ve been conditioned to live this way, this isn’t the life meant for me as Nigerian.

In the last 48 hrs I’ve not had light for close to 2hrs, dawg this isn’t life… me and my flatmates been burning money on fuel, it’s crazy, can’t cook cos there’s no light to even store the food.

I have been house hunting since September and all I have been seeing is stupid houses with ridiculous prices, no way I’m going to be paying millions of naira on bare minimum apartments.

Jesus Christ, one of my friends wey japa go UK for January him qualify of life don change, you don’t even need to tell me I can see it from his IG stories, I’m here shirtless while typing this stupid tweet blowing myself with my shirt cos heat wan kill me.

Today I’ll go to work and come back and meet no light still and think of buying fuel for another 900 naira per liter, do you know how insane that is, my dad already had me at this age and already building his own house.

Fuck Nigeria mehn, I’m not the type to crash out but I woke up thinking about the quality of life I’m living and it’s so fucking sad. Fuck all of you involved in this shit hole of a county, I fucking hate you all. Fuck APC too, Fuck me & Fuck U too cos we are way too scared to demand a better life for us and for our unborn kids.

I’m not asking for too much just the basic things dawg, the fucking basic things to live a comfortable life, why can’t my own country government give me that, do I have to Japa, how many people fit japa. We really gotta make things work mehn cos this country is damaged.
