Let me talk to you straight, one on one.
If a relationship feels like you’re paying to be loved, that’s already a red flag. The moment affection comes with conditions, you’re no longer building love, you’re negotiating a deal.
At first, it can feel convenient.
You give, they stay.
You provide, they’re nice.
But listen… that kind of arrangement never ages well.
Over time, the demands increase and the appreciation disappears. What you once offered willingly becomes an obligation.
Choose someone who stands with you, not someone who prices you.
Just because there is someone better or finer, does not validate the hurt you cause others. There is a face to the pain you cause. The illusion of choice, the existence of options and the possibility of getting better, does not excuse the hurt you caused.
I told us sometime ago that there are wicked men, & that their wickedness is nothing compared to that of women.
Let that story just serve as a lesson to some of you greedy women.
If a man knows that you once rejected him because he was broke, please continue to reject him even when he is now rich.
Do not say that he was the one that came back to you to plead that you accept him to be your boyfriend or husband.
Keep moving, tame your greed and count your losses.
The most disadvantageous thing that you can do to yourself as a woman, is to make a man know that you're with him because of his money.
He'll despise you and use that money as a leverage over you, maltreat you, cheat on you anyhow and rub it on your face.
Even if men know that women love money, make him feel and see that you've earned every penny that he gives to you.
End.
As long as you can feed yourself and your family comfortably, afford to pay your rent as at when due, pay all your miscellaneous bills without any hassle.
You're doing well.
It is not until you fly private jet.
Being able to do those things with ease is a privilege.
Privilege is such an interesting thing I often find myself thinking about. We do not ask for the life we have, and that is why I'm very mindful of it. You often find it a lot in my writing.
Last week, my cleaner told me on Monday(2 days ago) was her birthday. I asked her what age we are celebrating and she said 33. Epiphany hit me that my agemate is my cleaner. I wore a wry smile as I nodded my head and told her to remind me on Monday so she could get her gift.
I then went to my room to deal with the epiphany of privilege. In another universe, that could easily have been me.
Just because you don't have something right now, doesn't mean you can't have that same thing later.
If you think about it well, there was a time when you didn't have something, but you eventually got it.
Everything always comes at the right time, not necessarily when you want it.
As a man, if you want to know what true love feels like from a woman, in its pure and natural form, without any condition and expectation, have a daughter. ❤️
Men carry burdens they often cannot even put into words. Now imagine carrying the weight of the world every day, only to come home to no peace, no softness, and no emotional safety. Even the strongest man will eventually break.
When I am less busy, I will do another thread on how to deal with policemen when traveling by road, especially interstate travels. It’s a mix of my experience from 10-15years of interstate travels and as a legal practitioner.
Marrying someone whose mind is somewhere else, especially because they have a child with another person, will only leave you in total regrets. So when making those sacrifices, prepare for days the sacrifices might be thrown at your face with: did I force you?
She’s not joking one bit. There are certain things you simply don’t say to someone you claim to love, not even as a joke. Words like that don’t come out of nowhere. She meant every single word she said, with her full chest. Whether the guy chooses to take it seriously or brush it off is entirely up to him, but he shouldn’t ignore what was clearly revealed.
From my DM.
I got married to this man in January 2025, at a time when I was doing well in life. I had a stable job, my own home, and things were going smoothly for me.
He had just gotten his first overseas contract, and I was genuinely happy for him. We were both hopeful about our future together.
Not long after he traveled, his contract was terminated. Around the same time, I also lost my job. Overnight, everything changed. We were both unemployed, and then I found out I was pregnant.
We eventually lost our home. I had to move back in with my parents, while he stayed with a friend in another state.
Whenever he came to visit me, he stayed at my parents’ house, and my parents fed and accommodated both of us.
A few days after I gave birth, he got another overseas contract. We thanked God because we had both prayed for that opportunity.
Since his salary wasn’t much, we agreed that he would save a certain amount every month so we could eventually rent a home for our family.
To support us, I sold one of my properties to pay for my hospital bills and buy everything our baby needed.
The only thing I expected from him was to send money for our baby’s diapers. Instead, he kept telling me he didn’t have money.
Then one day, he accidentally mentioned that he had lent a friend a significant amount of money. That was when I realized he did have money he just wasn’t making his wife & child a priority.
From that point, his attitude toward me changed. He stopped answering my calls, would end conversations abruptly, and often wouldn’t call back.
I became emotionally drained and asked for a divorce. He refused, apologized, and promised to change, saying he was still adjusting to life in a new country. There was always another excuse.
He also stopped sending the money we had agreed to save for our future apartment.
Six months later, he returned to Nigeria for a holiday. We still didn’t have a home, so he stayed with a friend. For more than a month, he barely came to see me or our son because he claimed he didn’t have money for transportation to my parents’ house. I believed him. I thought he was genuinely struggling financially.
Eventually, he got another overseas contract. Before leaving Nigeria, he finally came to spend just three days with us.
While he was asleep, I went through his phone. I came across a conversation where his friend was asking him for the phone number of one of the girls he had slept with.
As I kept reading, I realized that while he was staying with his friend in Nigeria, he was spending money on different women and sleeping with them, all while telling me he couldn’t afford to come and see his own wife & child.
He had money when it came to other women, but somehow never had money for his family. the cheating wasn’t limited to Nigeria. He had also been unfaithful while he was working abroad.
That was the moment everything made sense.
I stood by this man when he had nothing. I never abandoned him when he lost his first contract. I lost my own job, lost my home, sold my property to care for our baby, moved back to my parents’ house, and supported him through the hardest season of our lives. I believed in us when there was nothing to gain.
But the moment he started earning again, he neglected his family, lied about not having money for our child, spent money on other women, cheated both in Nigeria and abroad, and expected me to forgive him.
Now he’s asking for forgiveness, but I still want a divorce.
I stayed when life was hard. He changed when life became easy.
What hurts most is that I don’t even know where to begin. I have to rebuild my life from scratch, Sometimes I feel like I’m losing my mind. Everything I spent years building is gone.
My parents have asked me to forgive him, please what is your advise sir?
I am 24 & he is 28.
My brief:
Your parents said you to forgive him?
"yes"
Are you expecting me to advise you against them?
"If you were me what would you do?"
I am not a woman.
End.
