ICAN President Challenges Trans Amadi & District Society to Translate Strategy into Action

The ICAN President, Hajia Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, mni, MSc, FCA, has challenged the leadership of the Trans Amadi and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to translate the Institute’s strategic agenda into tangible outcomes that will benefit members, students, the profession, and society.

Speaking at the investiture of Mrs. Erhunmwansee Eunice Ofure, FCA, as the 2nd Chairman of the District, Hajia Seghosime described District Societies as the engine room for implementing ICAN’s vision at the grassroots and urged the new Executive Committee to align its programmes with the Institute’s strategic agenda, “WE ARE ICAN!”

She charged the District to focus on measurable results by strengthening member engagement, expanding student development, promoting accountability, embracing technology, and delivering impactful initiatives that advance the profession.

The ICAN President also congratulated Mrs. Ofure and her Executive Committee on their inauguration while commending the pioneer Chairman, Mr. Silas Igwe, FCA, for laying a strong foundation for the District’s growth.

The investiture was attended by Council Members, Otunba Oluwatobi Ayodele Abiola, mni, Ph.D., FCA, and the Registrar/Chief Executive, Dr. Lanre Olasunkanmi, FCA, alongside other distinguished Chartered Accountants and invited guests.

We're excited to share that the #ION Mainnet launch is very close and will roll out in two phases!

🚀 Phase one begins on Nov 18 with the Mainnet genesis chain build, allowing the community to start running validators. If you own 3M+ $ICE coins and wish to run a validator node, email [email protected] for guidance.

Once the Mainnet is live, we'll begin the process of getting the chain integrated into exchanges, targeting Dec 16 for full support. If exchanges need more time, we may adjust the mainnet launch to January.

During Phase 1, users can migrate from BSC to the ION chain using a simple interface with #MetaMask and the #IONWallet Chrome extension. Some exchanges will support direct migration, removing the need for manual swaps.

📅 Phase two starts near the end of January with the launch of the dApp framework, including wallet, social, and chat features. If app approval from #PlayStore and #AppStore comes sooner, we may release Phase 2 earlier.
