“When the nation is bleeding, you can’t expect a polite meeting with the Head of State. We need to let him know. And his reply is that the nation is not bleeding. We told him the economy is not helping the poor people. He said economy is doing fine. Practically speaking, he told us quite clearly that he does not agree with us.”
Cardinal Onaiyekan shares details of the Catholic Bishops meeting with President Tinubu.

Today, I had the privilege of joining the University of Ibadan Students’ Union Students’ Representative Council (SRC) on a visit to Hon. Adedeji Odidiomo, APM Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, where he pledged the sum of ₦50 million towards the Union’s Legislative Week, to be known as the “Odidiomo Students’ Legislative Summit.”
The visit was particularly meaningful to me, having once served as the Deputy Speaker of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union SRC from 2019–2021, before subsequently serving as the House Secretary of the University of Ibadan Students’ Union.
Returning to engage with the current leadership of the Students’ Union, this time alongside the SRC, was a moment of reflection and renewed commitment to student leadership, representation and development.
Hon. Odidiomo’s ₦50 million commitment is not merely a financial contribution; it is a strong statement of belief in the capacity of young people and the importance of creating platforms where students can develop their leadership, legislative and governance skills.
The Odidiomo Students’ Legislative Summit will provide an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful discussions around leadership, governance, public policy, representation, accountability and the future of our society.
As someone who has experienced the Students’ Union Parliament firsthand, I understand the value of such programmes in shaping young minds and preparing students for greater responsibilities beyond the university environment.
I commend Hon. Adedeji Odidiomo for this remarkable commitment and for recognising that investing in students is an investment in the future of our society.
The University of Ibadan has consistently produced individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions across different sectors. Supporting its students today is, therefore, an investment in the leaders, professionals and nation-builders of tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing the ₦50 million pledge translated into a landmark Legislative Week that will leave a lasting impact on the University of Ibadan Students’ Union and its members.
From student parliament to public leadership, the journey continues.

The @NigAirForce already operates similar Diamond aircraft variants. Utilising this specific model allows the Oyo State government to seamlessly share spare parts, technical frameworks, and piloting expertise with the NAF while feeding real-time intelligence to local joint security task forces such as Amotekun.
Aircraft Capabilities:
1. The DA42 MNG (Multi-Mission New Generation) serves as an aerial shield using specialised, low-profile technologies:
2. High Endurance: Capable of flying continuous reconnaissance patrols for 8 to 12 hours without refuelling.
3. Advanced Sensors: Outfitted with gyro-stabilised, high-definition Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) camera turrets to track moving ground targets from high and low altitudes.
4. Stealth & Efficiency: Powered by two highly efficient Austro Engine AE300 diesel engines. They generate a remarkably quiet acoustic footprint (around 65 decibels), allowing them to monitor criminal encampments undetected.
5. Short Runway Performance: Requires less than 800 meters of runway to operate, ensuring high flexibility across remote regional airfields.

They called him a liar
They said he has likely embezzled the money allocated for the surveillance aircraft
Some said he is a clout chaser and doesn't value the lives of Oyo State citizens
But here comes the aircraft fully delivered by Seyi Makinde the talk & do Governor
Press Release
Breaking: Two Surveillance Aircraft Arrive in Ibadan
The two surveillance aircraft acquired by the Oyo State Government have arrived in Ibadan, fulfilling the government's earlier assurance that the aircraft would be delivered before the end of July.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, he said the arrival of the aircraft marks another step in the state's efforts to strengthen security operations through improved intelligence gathering and aerial surveillance.
The Commissioner recalled that the Oyo State Government announced the purchase of the two surveillance aircraft on July 8, 2025, as part of measures aimed at enhancing the capacity of security agencies to tackle emerging security challenges across the state.
He added that Governor Seyi Makinde had, on July 18, 2026, confirmed that the aircraft arrived in Nigeria and were undergoing reassembly at the Nigerian Air Force's hangar in Lagos.
The commissioner said the state government had, about a week earlier, assured residents that the aircraft would arrive in Oyo before the end of July, adding that the latest development fulfilled that commitment.
The aircraft are expected to support security agencies, including the Amotekun Corps and other relevant formations, in monitoring criminal activities and improving response efforts across the state.
He also noted that the Governor is on hand to receive the two aircraft at the airport.
E-Signed:
Prince Dotun Oyelade,
Hon. Commissioner for Information,
Oyo State.

Osun Govt Raises Alarm over Reported Police Attack on Navy Personnel to Free Asiri Eniba Thugs
● Calls on President Tinubu, NSA, Diplomatic Community to Stop Police Impunity
Osun state Government has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National security Adviser and the Diplomatic community to intervene to stop the current impunity by the police in Osun, expressing shock that the police could launch an attack on military personnel.
There was a bizarre situation today at Ile Ife when the personnel of the Osun state police command reportedly attacked Navy personnel to rescue the five hoodlums arrested by the Nigerian Navy.
It would be recalled that, in an attempt to hijack most parks in Osun state, the Asiri Eniba led thugs were accompanied by a police team to take over the motor parks across Osun state. Today the APC team led by Asiri Eniba stormed Ile Ife, shooting sporadically.
The Navy personnel stationed in the ancient town attended to the save our soul message of Mayfair residents and promptly intervened to arrest the hoodlums.
It was learnt that immediately, the Commissioner of Police heard about the arrest, he called the Commandant of the Navy to release them to him but the Commandant told the Osun state Commissioner of Police to allow him seek approval from the higher authority before handing them to the police.
The Osun CP was reportedly enraged with the Navy Commandant's reply, he then sent four lorries of mobile police men to attack the Nigerian Navy, with a view to rescue the hoodlums.
Reports indicated that the mobile policemen swiftly moved in and teargassed the Naval men before rescuing the hooligans
However, the police did not succeed in retrieving the five pump action rifles from the Navy.
This is a bizarre situation and impunity carried too far.
Osun state Government is therefore calling on Mr President, who is the father of the Nation, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to wade in to Osun matters before it degenerates further.
Osun state Government is equally calling on the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to act before the situation escalates.
As we have been crying loud to the whole world especially, the diplomatic Communities, we are also calling on the diplomatic community to impose visa ban on any police official who is aiding and abetting political violence in Osun state.
E - SIGNED:
OLUOMO KOLAPO ALIMI,
HON COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION AND
PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT, OSUN STATE.
Apparently, APC people are rejoicing cos of the list of their finance committee ahead of the Osun election. Are they trying to tell us that they wants to bribe the good people of Osun? Na Governor Wey no dey pay salary for workers Den go use 20k collects their votes. Osun people will collect Una money, still press am for Adeleke
Lessons shall be learnt!
@Tommy181904@seun_laurel He can only talk about his office,he was employed not elected
The person that can talk about late Ajimobi adminstration is the former deputy governor who is the chairman oyo APC
Some people project their own obsession with petty political appointments onto leaders who are busy delivering actual governance. Gov. Makinde's focus remains fixed on the people, which is why Oyo continues to soar. Meanwhile, keep losing sleep over it. Bimbo Adekanmbi's Omituntun 3.0 for 2027 is already a done deal!
