Dad, school bus driver, entrepreneur going through the journey of life understanding the gifts of my #ADHD, fulfilling my dreams, helping others to do the same.
It has been a while since I've tweeted. Been a challenging year and a half. Have learned lots about myself and how I can continue to make my life better. I hope everyone has been well #lifeisgood#personalgrowth
In recent months I have felt like a failure because I didn't make progress like I thought I should but then I realized I made progress even if it wasn't the progress I was looking for. I have grown in such an amazing way it's just not growth I was looking for.

I must admit changing my routine so many times in one year has been a challenge. It is definitely a growth phase for me. What it's teaching me is I can adapt although it hasn't been easy I am getting better learning to adapt as a result.

Getting into creative, purposeful flow can be hard. I know for me it can take time but when I do give it time it all of a sudden happens. Find something that helps put you in the creative mood. For me it's sitting at my desk and putting on some music.
Today is what matters. Focus on the here and now Live every moment of your day to its fullest. Worrying about things you can't control doesn't do you any good and more often than not those worries don't even come true.

With my ADHD it takes effort to focus and make decisions which help me get towards my goals and dreams. Going with the flow isn't going to cut it as much as that is my natural state. Structure in my day allowing for creativity is what I need.

Working hard everyday to love and accept others even when their beliefs are different than mine. So much division and hatred. Stories of friendships breaking up over political disagreements makes me sad and disappointed. Let's all work to love each other no matter what.

I know for a fact that I need to get out of the house every day even if it's just for a bit. Working at home and not going out is not good. I notice it when I start to feel out of sorts. When this happens I realize it's time for a change.

A good tip for keep on track is to print out the things you want to accomplish and have it posted in places you will easily see it. Often we forget to do things so having friendly reminders around the house is very helpful.

There are old habits that we revert back into even after we have been successful creating new habits. Notice when you do this and adjust. For me I use the couch and TV as an avoidance mechanism. I am aware of this so reminding myself of this is helpful.

I have totally gone of the routine I had setup for myself months ago. Struggling to get back to it but committed to it because I know how good it has been for me. Covid has definitely messed things up but that doesn't mean I can't adapt and get back to what I was doing.

Not accomplishing what I want can bring out my anxiety. Leaving it up to chance with my ADHD just isn't going to work. I have to be super intentional about everyday and what I want to accomplish otherwise I will just go with what my brain wants to do.
#adhd#intentions
It's easy to revert back to old habits. I have done this my self recently. I have noticed that being home I have reverted to using TV to avoid what I want to accomplish. Super tempting when the TV is right there. Noticing when you do this is key and the first step.

Today is a new day no matter what happened yesterday. It is so easy to focus on the past and our negative experiences. Today and right now is all that matters so focus on that and fulfill your dreams

Despite the failures you experience in life you can still move forward. These failures are learning experiences and are essential in our growth.

I have made it a point to get outside every single day during quarantine. Connection with nature is so important especially since we are inside so much. Go out and enjoy what nature has to offer today. Even if it's for a few minutes.

Creativity is so important. Spending time in creative flow during your day can be fulfilling. Spending too much time in the left brain can be frustrating. Find time today to be creative. Use that right brain of yours.

Exercise is so important for the ADHD brain. During the quarantine I have had to completely change how I approach this since there's no gym to go to. It's all about options and making choices from those options. Often we don't think there are options but there are

So just as I announce that I got up 2 days in a row with my alarm and didn't go back to sleep then today I completely sleep through my alarm and wake up 15 minutes after my 7:30 am meeting I was supposed to attend. π Oh well tomorrow is a new day for success
