Today we took a much closer look at our soil. Students investigated the composition of the soil to determine the color, texture, content, and moisture.

The stage is set. We are inquiring into the difference soil can make on plants. Students have filled our wonderful beds with different types of soil. We are now officially planting! How exciting

-Story Elements
We spent some time outside today planning, cutting, drilling and most importantly being creative. Students created a character that can go into their setting. Eventually, all this hard work will turn into wonderful stories. @ISHRLearns
After a few counts and recounts (Due to many different scenarios) we have come to the conclusion that we have been in school for 100 days!
We took this opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge our accomplishment. @ISHRLearns
We took a deep dive into our "Then and Now" unit . After many twists and turned, we have explored many different toys and games used in the past.
The road took us to a blast from the past in the form of a field day.
@ISHRLearns
Today we had another fun day exploring fun from the past. Hoop rolling or hoop trundling truly is a blast from the past. @ISHRLearns COVID approved fun !
In our inquiry into games and toys "Then and Now" we stumbled across this oldie but goodie. Nothing like a good old fashion egg-and-soon race
*No eggs were harmed during this activity.
@ISHRLearns
Beebots are on the move! We navigated through a simple maze by programming our Beebots. Really fun math activity that introduces students to coding.
@ISHRLearns
Let the birds fly! We had a really fun and engaging lesson in math today. We let our birds fly, then we measured the distance using nonstandard measurement.
@ISHRLearns
Looking at items from the past, or as the kids called it "antiques". Great provocation for our "Now and Then" unit. Side note: We got the CD player to work and produce sound!
@ISHRLearns
We had an amazing field trip to the school biology center. Part of our field trip included classifying plants and looking at different soil types!
@ISHRLearns
After inquiring into ways that people express themselves we are now given the choice to express ourselves. This unit has taken many different forms and it is an amazing sight.
@ISHRLearns
A big thank you to @Grade3Ishr for coming and sharing their poetry with us. We had the chance to discuss with authors and get good peer insight. We took it and are working on our own poetry as a way to express ourselves.

Today we expressed our feelings and emotions by putting them into jars. Students used the jars to show how their feelings and emotions get flare up and how they can stop and settle.
@ISHRLearns
We had a really fun time creating 3-D shapes using toothpicks and clay. This fun activity really helped us identify the attributes of 3-D shapes.
