In IC 814 plane hijacking, he showed the courage to go to all the way to Kandahar to free the hostages when Intelligence agencies wanted a senior minister to be present for quick decision on the spot.

The intel was there that terrorists wanted to do something even after releasing hostages as world was entering new millennium & they wanted to “celebrate”.

Jaswant Singh went nevertheless. I cannot imagine any other minister who would have volunteered to go in Taliban territory to be amongst those terrorists.

Jaswant Singh wrote many amazing books, did military service, always said what he felt.

On 27 September, it is his death anniversary.

When this boy got his first vaccine, the doctor threw me out of the room as I got teary. And now I'm expected to pretend it's ok when he gets injured or endangered. It is not ok. It will never be ok.
But I will respect the path he's chosen. It is brutal. Things can & do go wrong. This time the dice were stacked against him. Another time there will be victory. That's just a part of the game.

Karam festival celebrated across Jharkhand with traditional dance, music.

A cultural programme was organised at Tana Bhagat Inter College in Lohardaga to mark the occasion, with Jharkhand Welfare Minister Chamra Linda attending the event.

People celebrated Karam with traditional songs, music and dance. Chief Minister Hemant Soren also extended his greetings on the occasion.

He said the festival inspires people to respect nature and work towards its conservation.

A Karam festival event was also organised at the Dr Ramdayal Munda Akhra at Ranchi University, where Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey joined students and artists in performing traditional dances to the beat of the 'Mandar', a traditional tribal drum.

The festival involves devotees worshipping a branch of the Karam tree and praying for a good harvest, happiness and prosperity.
