I feel more at ease around MAGA people than around the woke crowd.
Most MAGA people I meet don’t care who I sleep with. They care if I’m decent, if I work, if I don’t lecture them. They’ll argue about taxes or borders and then ask how my weekend was.
A lot of woke spaces treat me like a mascot or a project.
If I don’t recite the latest script—pronouns, “queer” as an identity, every cultural fight as existential—I’m a traitor. Dissent gets you called a self-hating bigot by people who’ve never actually lived a quiet gay life.
I didn’t come out to become a political weapon. I came out so I could stop hiding. The people who keep trying to hide me behind their slogans are not my friends.
