4 : Sending a letter to the Castle led to Rudeus being locked up by Pax in a King Barrier. If Zanoba didn't notice the Ruijerd Figure he could have stayed there til death.

It allows know the location of his allies, and distribute burdens between them.
It comes from his desire to save everyone.
