@GBNEWS Benefits should be means tested, a safety net. We’ve known for 35yrs to save 10% of our salaries for later life. Now we’re told 15% Yes, it’s difficult for those who haven’t saved/ made provision, but everyone was told 35 years ago the state pension would be worthless.

@GBNEWS State pension is NOT a benefit. It’s a pension, but run by the state, its purpose to replace income after retirement. It’s not rocket science. You pay into to plan, you cash out, simple.
Benefits should be means tested, as these provide a safety net for those unable to work.
