Excerpt from my latest article on Substack: "It hit me a few days ago that 20 years ago exactly, I was in Guatemala on a mission trip that obviously didn’t kill me, though a couple hours after arriving, I thought it might." Full piece & audio here: https://t.co/J8Vc0fzyLM
Excerpt from my latest Substack article (with audio), published last night:
"I was moving some things around in my closet today and happened to see my high school yearbook on the floor. I pulled it out and opened it, specifically looking for writing inside, but not just any writing. I had two things in mind: the message I wrote to myself as a 17-year-old young woman heading out into the “real world” and the message my favorite teacher, my senior-year English instructor, penned to me. I read both with tears trickling down my face, as I was struck by the reality that both of those could easily have been written today, not 38 years ago."

Returned last night from California from keynoting this event at the University of California, Merced (UC Merced). An honor! Stayed a few days longer & visited Alcatraz, saw the Golden Gate Bridge, ate all kinds of food--staying in 3 cities/hotels in 4 nights!
