the end* of an era
its not easy making this post but i feel like i owe it to the people following my journey
as of today i am stepping down from competitive pokemon unite, and being the final member of the original TTV roster its time to put a rest to the team as a whole.
this decision was very difficult on me as the last 3 years ive lived and breathed pokemon unite. ive sacrificed many personal relationships, professional opportunities, and my mental health all to prove to myself i was the best in my domain.
this wasn't something that was decided overnight. in fact ive had a decent amount of time coming to terms with it myself going back to last month when we found out our new toplaner (vin) was banned for 1 year from pokemon events. to this day we aren't really sure why he was banned and the appeal process would leave us with very little time to finish the season.
we tried hard to find a replacement but with just 3 weeks before the most important qualifiers it was going to be very tough to fill his shoes. hitman who had success in other games seemed like a viable option but to no fault of his the inexperience really showed and we really didn't have a roster capable of winning worlds which is the only goal left to accomplish for me and ttv.
what's next? i know a lot of people would love to see me try the free agent market and/or try to form a team with other free agents but with winning worlds as my only goal left to achieve i really don't see that happening in the short amount of time left.
as for my content.. well i'm in a weird spot now. i never really came to unite to become a content creator. i still find it weird to even consider myself a creator/youtuber/streamer/influencer or whatever. my content was always just a documentation of my journey as a pro player and a way to help inspire others to do the same.
i have a lot of ideas that i never finished because playing competitive always came first, i might try to bring these to life. ive also really found a love for coaching and i can confidently say i've helped a lot of ucs players in many different regions accomplish some of their goals.
and you never know maybe next year maybe if a new door opens up i'll be back.
