@GovNedLamont
has ordered all State of Connecticut offices closed. ADS office buildings will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the major winter storm that is impacting the state.
❄️ Winter storms can make it hard for people to get help.
Check in on your neighbors, friends, and loved ones—sometimes a quick call or text can make all the difference.
#StayConnected#CTWinterReady
Before the snow arrives, take a few minutes to check in on your insurance coverage. Reviewing your home and auto policies, documenting your belongings, and keeping important information accessible can make a big difference if winter weather impacts your property.
Our @CTDOTOfficial crews are working hard to clear the way.
Let’s help them do their jobs:
❄️ Stay back: Give plows plenty of space.
❄️ Don’t pass: Never pass in active plowing zones.
❄️ Be patient: They’re moving slow to keep our roads clear.
There have been numerous reports of accidents throughout Connecticut this morning since the start of the snowfall. We urge everyone to stay home and off the roads.
At its peak, the snowfall is expected to be 2 inches per hour, this means there will be a significant buildup of snow on the road for a lot of the day.
If you MUST drive (emergency, essential workers) remember:
🩺Keep a first aid kit in your vehicle
🚗Keep sand in your vehicle
❄️Keep a blanket and/or sleeping bags in your vehicle
⏲️Try and time your travel with light snowfall periods
❄️Do not pass snowplows
❄️Give snowplows ample room on the road.
In the event of an emergency, call 911. Call 211 for other assistance. Be safe!
Here’s a look at some of our plow cameras, just a few of the hundreds of #CTDOT crews out across #Connecticut. Stay home if you can. If you must travel, do not pass or crowd the trucks. Give us plenty of room to work to safely clear the roads. #DontCrowdThePlow
