@dig_ren@Gorgon_51T6@artemkintop The T-80U with Agava 2 sight images above are images of real T-80U within Russian army.
Object 219A is not, it was displayed and driven around in Kubinka Patriot park just as a show for people to watch.
@Haarinala Cant be AM1 as for the presence of 1K13-22 sight. Can be only T-55AM or T-55AM-1. (M1 means no ATGMs - no 1K13-22; M-1 means presence of more powerful V-46-5M engine and it's air conditioner being visible on the right fender - small box placed in place of fuel tank)
@T_90AK Video posted by Patriot Park regarding the show Object 219A (hull dated dec 1981).
The tank itself was defo before 1982, as that year marked installation of 1A45 FCS, meanwhile here it's smth in between - it features T-80U ballistic comp, 9K119 complex, TPN-4-49, some 1G42.
@elmira_503@RubyPanda Previously spmewhere in 2010s they wanted to block it for someone posting drug recipes in Steam Game community pages, those were removed so it didnt happen.
@Captain_Fubar Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe
It was a reason for 258 T-55 tanks getting scrapped altogether with their APS systems, as well as Drozd's hault of production, for future APS systems having trouble with both testing, development and adoption.
@Captain_Fubar BTW most tanks before hand, before current events that featured Arena APS system were marketed and painted into yellow for that exact reason: to sell it for the ones who were not affected by agreement.
@Captain_Fubar Arena goes as late as 1984, being tested on T-80 tank, APS systems in general were given attention much earlier, with some designs being from 70's, 60's or even 50's.
BTW test of Arena ended in 2008 and they werent accepted exactly because of pre mentioned agreements.
