My battles with depression and suicidal ideation have made me stronger. When I turned the corner on suffering, I saw how it enriches life.

I just heard a story of a 20-year-old who recently jumped off of a tall bridge to end his life. When I was 20, I had similar feelings, eventually I would go to the bridge late at night with a dear friend and we would poorly belt out opera in the long tunnel between river banks.
Every so often, a student would walk past us at 130am with water in their eyes, and we would get a warm feeling, like maybe our banter and boorish ballads may have just changed somebody’s mind that night. you never know the extent with which you might inspire someone to go on
Down at my alma mater, the University of Minnesota Minnesota, it used to be bathed in a gentle golden light at night, that has been replaced by energy efficient, bright white led bulbs. It’s just not the same. At least they kept the Washington Ave., Bridge gold
