Qassem Soleimani, the greatest Iranian general, tells his audience that Islam during the Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman periods was corrupted.
He was talking about Sunni Islam.
Basically there was no Islam for 13 centuries.

beware of luxury and the dress of the non-Arabs, and accustom yourselves to a simple, hardy way of life.”
Another narration contains the wording:
«وَاخْشَوْشِنُوا وَاخْلَوْلِقُوا»
“Live simply and wear coarse clothing.”
Musannaf of Abd al-Razzaq al-San’ani (20700)
’Umar رضي الله عنه advised Muslims to avoid excessive luxury and live simply, although with different wording.
Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه wrote to the people of al-Shām:
“Learn archery, walk between the targets (to retrieve your arrows), teach your women spinning,
I have not come across these exact words in any primary Hadith source. Not authentically established from ’Umar in this exact wording.
'Umar b. al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه said:
"Get used to a tough life, for luxury does not last forever."
It is authentically reported that
‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib رضي الله عنه said:
One of the words most beloved to Allāh is for a servant to say while prostrating: "I have wronged myself, so forgive me!"

‘Umar bin al-Khattāb[رضي الله عنه] said:
Verily a man leaves his home and upon him from sins is that which resembles the Mountains of Tihāmah but then he hears [Islamic] knowledge, becomes fearful, turns back [away from sinning] and repents such that [when] he
