I can't wait to visit #Voss tomorrow and see how she is. I haven't been for about 3 months now due to other incidents and I'm half expecting her to have taken in some water over the engine bilge into the saloon cabin. Fingers crossed my engine compartment repairs weren't too bad!

The inboard engine on #Sailing #Yacht #Voss is clearly in need of lots of work! This winter I will be spending as much time onboard as possible, and stripping the engine down piece by piece, and cleaning, fine tuning and repainting each component as I go. Wish me luck! Jonathan.

The original brand name of #Voss is a 'Sunspeed' 715, built in 1980.

* Originally she would have been fitted with a 9HP Yanmar YSM8 Inboard, but this has since been replaced with an engine of unknown origin.

Instead of replacing the cabin saloon deck boarding on #sailing #yacht #voss with similar, I've decided to jump on the modern bandwagon and line the deck with modern mosaic tiles! - Easy to clean and dry, and just as light as the original deck boards and carpets!

Restoration work is now underway on #Sailing #Yacht #Voss! I've started scrubbing the decks down and removing rotten sheets and rigging ropes. She needs an engine rebuild, electrical refit, new VHF radio and depth sounder, plus cabin refit, fridge install and hob extractor!

I've really started to get into the swing of things now on the bike with some nice short trips of about 11 miles between Chelmsford and the village I currently live in. Hopefully at the weekend I will get the chance to make some decent tutorial videos on cross country cycling! JC
