For instance, the 'Sweden' team that played at last year's IFA Men's World Cup in Jiangmen, China was actually the club Hammarby, but was presented as a national representative team. 'Mexico' was a club called KnowEns.
ASIC records show the IFA is registered to the same Brisbane address as the AFA and ex-employees say it is merely a puppet entity, carefully crafted to deceive players and parents and give the appearance of international prestige.
"It's a money-making thing. It's driven by the kids. They think 'oh, I'm that good?' and the parents think, 'wow'.
"They want people to believe they're the governing body. But it's a business."

Unfortunately many have been duped by these unofficial national teams and competitions. Scotland has been dragged into this. Those involved say 'we're giving people opportunities' but if not aligned to governing bodies their customers are not protected.
Tonight we have announced to our clubs that we will not be able to complete the season in the timescales required to allow us to have our champions decided on court.
As such we would like to congratulate @PYFSaltires on retaining the SFL Superleague on an average points basis
🏆SCOTTISH CHAMPIONS🏆
The SFL have tonight confirmed that the Scottish Super League will be decided by points per game meaning PYF Saltires have retained the league title and will compete in the 2020/2021 UEFA Futsal Champions League.
Thanks to the record number of referees who attended and contributed to this mornings Scottish FA referees online futsal training day 👏🏻 great to see
Also to Martin Myers from the @ScottishFutsal league for joining us
First squad quiz night this week. Amazing effort by all.
Quiz master Adam excelled himself.
Congrats to captain Ally who came out on top and we're absolutely convinced Google wasn't used as a phone a friend.

Gordon will continue to referee futsal at European and international level while @SFL_Dundee and @sfl_superleague official Vikki is an international assistant referee due to her work in women’s football
Well done to both 👏🏻
Congratulations to @ScottishFutsal officials Gordon McCabe & Vikki Robertson who earlier this year were presented with their FIFA badges for 2020 alongside Scotland’s other international referees ...
