kinda funny how AI coding is evolving.

we started with just tell it what you want.

then we built skills, hooks, MCPs, subagents, agent teams, memory, complex workflows, all to make AI understand what we want.

are we actually making AI better, or just rebuilding programming around natural language?

AI is pay to play now.

In 2025 I had a $20 Cursor sub and it was enough.

In 2026 I have three ChatGPT Pro accounts, a Claude Max, and a SuperGrok Heavy. $1,100 a month.

GPT 6 Astra is the best model I have ever used and it eats a full week of Pro usage in 4 hours.

Claude Code limits are about to drop another 17%.

The best models are behind a wall and the wall gets higher every month.

We are watching the permanent underclass get built in real time.

🚨 Fable 5.2 could launch this month after Astra’s strong debut

Anthropic is reportedly preparing its first fresh pretrain for Fable ahead of its IPO. People there are confident it can dethrone Astra.

For context: Fable 5.1 and GPT 6 Astra currently share #1 on AA, with Fable slightly ahead in coding and Astra much stronger on 3D tasks.

🚨 SCOOP: Anthropic are planning to launch a successor to Fable 5.1 before their IPO in late September, potentially early October if timelines slip a little

The model is Anthropic's first fresh pretrain for the Fable class, and they're confident it will dethrone Astra. The general mood among those I spoke to at Anthropic was that Astra was impressive but not something they were losing sleep about

But based on what exactly?

There’s no universally accepted AGI benchmark or evaluation pipeline to prove we’ve reached it.

So how do we actually know when AGI is AGI??

Fable 5.1 has something that I think no other model can do better, "reading what's between the lines".

This model's ability to understand intent and elaborate on the prompt is unbeaten, I basically tried every SOTA model and nothing gets even close.

As much as I like to trash talk Anthropic I would be an idiot if I don't acknowledge that and admit it.

@DehumanoaDeus If you lack domain specific knowledge, simply refrain from posting about it. Do you know the difference between ChatGPT Pro and Claude Pro? One is a 10 k plan; the other is a 2 k plan.

In reality, you end up needing three separate visits with the $200 guy.

You spend more, take longer, and probably still don't get the $400 expert's results.

So who's actually better, faster, and cheaper?
