#HillfortsWednesday The wide vista across the Ystwyth valley in #Ceredigion, Wales, seen from the outcrop at the highest point of Castell Grogwynion hillfort.

The view, right, takes in historic lead/silver mines, perhaps originally exploited in the Late Iron Age.

Our 3 baby #swallows fledged yesterday from their nest in the porch & were enjoying some low-level flying practice this morning with mum & dad; they're clearly enjoying themselves!

I’ve stumbled across a video I’d forgotten I’d shot (similar to the one I’ve shared before, but slightly different). It’s of a WW1 Italian 149mm Ansaldo howitzer, sited at 3300m on a ridge above the Adamello glacier. It’s been up there for 107 years.
