Why were the Modifications Discontinued?

>Six-cylinder 3956 cc in-line petrol engine and chassis were never designed to carry the massive weight of thick steel plates. The added weight ruined the suspension, drastically reduced the vehicle's speed, and caused frequent mechanical breakdowns.
