WWE doesn't suck, it PEAKED.
WrestleMania 17 and WrestleMania 40 are eerily similar.
WM 17:
- one of the BEST shows EVER!
- considered the END of the Attitude Era.
-end of the 4 year-long Austin-McMahon angle
-WWE PEAKED and never reached that high again.
WM 40:
-also one of the best shows EVER!
-may be the end of the Renaissance Era
-end of the 4 year long Bloodline Angle
-WWE PEAKED and never reached that high again.
The long-term angles that defined the two BOOM PERIODS reached a CLIMAX. Austin turned heel and Cody Finished the story.
Maybe the problem isn’t that WWE suddenly became bad afterward. Maybe sustaining a historic peak is almost impossible.
Just re-read an old convo with my best friend about AEW in 2022.
-We were hyped over the Jurassic Express 😭
-I called Penny from Big Bang Theory "Penny Omega"
-He said the roster is bloated already 😬
-Britt Baker is No. 1
-We were thirsting over Tay Conti...and Aliyah? 😭
Cody Rhodes was in the midcard in AEW.
Yes he already had the gimmick, but he was never guaranteed to be a STAR.
WWE made him a STAR.
How?
-huge re-debut at WM38
-3 straight wins against Seth
-made the hero to oppose the biggest heel in wrestling, Roman Reigns
-WM39 main event
-won feud vs Brock Lesnar
-WM40 main event win
Trying to discredit WWE for creating the 2nd biggest star and arguably the biggest Babyface of this era is just flat out stupid!
THIS IS WHY I DON'T WATCH AEW.
AEW used to be really cool because it was the only place you can see guys like Kenny, The Bucks, and Hangman on a bigger stage.
I stopped watching when Tony brought in WWE guys seemingly every week. Even worse, those WWE guys can't help but mention WWE and talk shit all the time.
Everybody loves the underdogs, but when the underdogs are more arrogant than the guys they claim are "bad," it's kinda hard to cheer for them.
Tony has done a much better job in recent years focusing on his own product. But some of his guys still can't help but mention WWE in every interview.
Mick Foley believes WWE has lost a “little bit of magic” under corporate ownership, saying AEW feels more personal and driven by love for the product.

Did Stephen A Smith not give in to Danhausen's demands?
Harper is killing them right now, and uh no....is Jalen Brunson injured?
The Knicks may be cursed...again!
@JasonBe85443097 Because American Nightmare Cody Rhodes has never been to WWE. It'd be a return if it was Stardust or Dashing Cody Rhodes. I hope the difference is clear Jason

Vince won the Monday Night Wars when he stopped talking about what Billionaire Ted's show was doing.
WCW lost the Monday Night Wars because they couldn't stop talking about what WWE was doing.
Is it much harder to develop male talents compared to women?
Because the NXT men's division ain't really been hitting it for like years now, while the Women's division just has an abundance of riches.
Here's a list of guys who were HOTSHOTTED to the main event and it worked:
BROCK LESNAR.
(end of list)
Here's the ones that didn't:
Ryback
Vladimir Kozlov
2004 Randy Orton
Chosen One Drew McIntyre
Wade Barrett
Alberto Del Rio
The Great Khali
Sheamus
2015 Roman Reigns
I completely understand why Triple H is taking his time with Oba Femi.
Tell me if I'm telling lies:
Most wrestling fans don't want new stars.
They want THEIR favorites to become stars.
Those are two very different things.🤷
The "WWE doesn't create new stars" argument is fascinating.
The moment WWE successfully creates a new star, people remove them from the conversation because they're no longer new.
