I just watched Kevin McCarthy walk into one of Washington D.C’s fanciest restaurants with his secret service and his entourage to enjoy his dinner.

No I’m not saying where.

At the same exact time McCarthy and Republicans are holding our entire country’s economy hostage.

Any why? Why the fuck are they doing it?

So they can force extreme cuts to the part of the budget that funds nutrition for newborns and pregnant moms, cancer research, and grants for clean drinking water.

It’s not McCarthy who would suffer in a debt crisis and it’s not his rich buddies either.

It would be YOU.

It would be everyone who relies on Social Security to pay rent and afford food.

Just those disruptions alone would have enormous economic and health consequences over time.

To Republicans, what the fuck are you doing? Why aren’t you screaming for them to stop this terrorist bullshit? Do you not realize this would affect you too?

In the meantime, Kevin McCarthy will be on the finest restaurants on your dime.

Governor Jay Inslee of Washington has just BANNED the manufacture, sale, and import of assault weapons in the state.

“No one needs an AR-15,” he said.

“Today, we’re standing on the right side of history by taking action on gun violence to improve the health, safety, and lives of Washingtonians," Inslee tweeted in reference to House Bill 1240.

Washington is now the 10th state to institute an assault weapons ban, joining California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, as well as Washington, D.C.

The public needs to understand how heartless and awful McCarthy’s proposed budget cuts are.

Instead of asking billionaires to pay their fair share in taxes, Republicans want to decimate veterans healthcare. #NoCutsToVeteransCare

A 22% cut to the VA would mean 30 MILLION fewer veteran outpatient visits, and 81 THOUSAND jobs lost across the Veterans Health Administration.

This would leave veterans unable to get appointments for care including wellness visits, cancer screenings, mental health services, and substance use disorder treatment.
