FF John Ashby is an absolute professional who knows his truck like the back of his hand. It was like watching poetry in motion as he maximized positioning the truck within an inch of getting the stabilizer out and shot the fire building roof over the cab. LEGEND!

AFD had the great pleasure of meeting retired @usairforce Gen. Buck Adams at a recent fire. Gen. Adams went for the aggressive interior attack on his neighbors garage w/ the green line (zoom in on his shirt). He kept things in check until AFD arrived. Look him up. Impressive man.

Congratulations to FF Jenkins & FF Blocker on successfully completing the AFD probationary FF program & becoming full fledged FF’s. At the completion of this program, the prob. FF trades a red shield for a black shield. B-Shift was lucky to get these two guys. Great job!

CAPTAIN'S CORNER - Captain James Hall.  It’s hard to compete with the energy of Captain James Hall. He was training recruit class 127 this week for hose, streams, and appliances at Charlotte Fire Training Academy.  "This is prepping them for the most important job they're going to have and that's going to a fire in the city," Hall said. A North Carolina native, Hall joined Charlotte Fire over two decades ago.  He's been assisting with training on hoses since recruit class 73.

This young man made us all better. He was an inspiration to everyone. He had the ability to energize. He was good at his job, but he always wanted to be better. His actions proved it. He was a team player all the way. He LOVED serving our community. He will be deeply missed. RIP
