@Jessica78577251 @nysut My nephew in Florida graduated from high school from a virtual learning platform pre-Covid. The “one model only of schooling” option should change to allow more flexibility/choice.
@DrBradJohnson I read a 7th grade LA exam that had a passage. I looked up the passage: scholastic reading level 10th grade with 11th grade understanding... that’s not rigor. That’s ridiculous!
@RepBowman@SecCardona@SenGillibrand@RepTomSuozzi@Ilhan@RepMarkTakano@SenMarkey Some students have been in school full time. Others take 7 classes a day on an iPhone 7, babysitting siblings, with spotty WiFi. To give a standardized test this year is simply heartless. If you need standardized tests to show inequities, look instead to socioeconomic disparities
@VP@SecCardona To force states to administer exams when this pandemic continues to illuminate socio-economic inequities for the sake of data is ridiculous. Provide the funding, cancel exams, and focus on a strong Fall start. Kids have endured so much socially & academically over the past year.
@AFTunion@DrBiden@rweingarten@BeckyPringle Reduce testing. Excessive testing in 3-8 and state exams connected to graduation are not the answer @DrBiden Years ago, focus was “Reading is fundamental.” Back to foundation building and enough with the tests upon tests.
So proud of Kara for making ALL-NORTH JERSEY SECOND TEAM in Field Hockey. As goalie, she had 136 saves on goal during a reduced season! Amazing effort Kara! Much deserved @BSabatiniNVOT @NVOT_Athletics@NVOT@KaraSilvermanOT
I love it when teachers are aware of the little things that matter to their students. It reminds me how much they care about them. And that inspires me.
NVOT congratulates Kara Silverman, November Student of the Month. Kara has personified active involvement in the life and spirit of the high school in a leadership role-Students Against Destructive Decisions Club and Student Council!

@teachergoals I have one administrator that does this daily and she doesn't realize how amazing she really is. We tell her ... but words can't truly describe the imprint of her impact
