You don’t have to watch the video of #TyreNichols being beaten by police.
You don’t have to subject yourself to that trauma.
It should not require another video of a Black human being dehumanized for anyone to understand that police brutality is an urgent, devastating issue.
Will the @MEM_PoliceDept's killing of #TyreNichols make residents more or less likely to cooperate with police?
Inquiring @MLK50Memphis minds want the answer to that question – and many more.

@MRobinsonJRSM still waiting to hear from the editors, any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. We're really trying to get our hands on a story from your archives
Thanks
BREAKING: The 5 former Memphis Police Department officers have been indicted by a grand jury on charges ranging from second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct and official oppression for the death of Tyre Nichols.
@MRobinsonJRSM This is a story from the print version of the newspaper from 1989. It would only be in the archives.
Do you have someone on staff who primarily deals with social justice / racism stories?
@MRobinsonJRSM@DailyHelmsman Thanks for your help. I tried that but got no response. If you would have one of the editors DM us or email us at [email protected] I would greatly appreciate it.
