@vadenhoffman@margbrennan “...until we neglected testing so long that it spread like wildfire when we could have been identifying, isolating, tracing and preventing.”
There, fixed it for you.
@margbrennan@weijia It was spreading quickly while POTUS was denying, downplaying, distracting and dividing throughout Feb, March, April and beyond. The delay in testing throughout Feb-April was criminal, in my opinion. Many people AND businesses could have been spared.
There are a thousand exceptions to the “no hypoxia, no admission” statement. I only meant very generally for COVID+ mild-mod symptoms. Very often, it’s best to phone your primary care doc, if anyone at all. Hard to know severity without a pulse oximeter though.
Many factors are considered when deciding to admit. Some will likely do better at home, others worse depending on a lot of things & less tangible human factors. But generally if you’re not getting hypoxia, you don’t need a hospital. Keep a pulse oximeter at home. Can loan out too
There is something funny happening with COVID hospitalizations
Proportion of COVID pts getting hospitalized falling
A lot
Just recently
My theory?
As hospitals fill up, bar for admission rising
A patient who might have been admitted 4 weeks ago may get sent home now

@BlueGirlsRule I’d bet Trumps surprised and upset that his cult followers haven’t started Civil Wat 2 based on the not-so-subtle mafia style indirect suggestions they’re dropping. Probably thinking “what do I have to do, give a clear direct order!?”
DHS official @C_C_Krebs, fired for accurately saying the election was secure: “What we saw was […] what has kind of become known as a ‘perception hack,’ where an adversary could claim that the system was compromised.” That was the “biggest risk.” It came from a domestic source.
@MFishbowl Ah - it was a double-shitty reference. Gotcha.
Well ... I’m afraid this will be a very divisive 4yrs for the left with slippery slopes at every turn - and armies of trolls actively coaxing us to slide down them. Every effort to alienate and divide rather than govern is suspect.
