That singular event was responsible for an exodus of a good number of my friends and acquaintances from this country. To be ready to lay down your life for your country but watching your fellow countrypeople die and be denied the very-least humanity of having once lived. Having once been people. Like they all died for nothing.
The EndSARS massacre and the ensuing coordinated disinformation campaign + historical denialism dampened a lot of spirits in this country. It wasn’t just that people died - it was also watching people side with the government to deny their deaths or blaming them for being there.
