A little story time…
The first 3 years after I started trading, I spent a lot of time learning from some of the best traders out there. Their trading styles didn’t necessarily align with mine, but I was more interested in understanding their psychology and thought process. To this day, I still believe that’s the most valuable thing you can learn from a successful trader.
Anyone can copy trades. But if you’re not learning along the way, you’ll never make real progress. And even if you do, it’ll probably take 3 to 4 times longer than it should.
During those first few years, I went through many of the same struggles that a lot of you are dealing with today. Blown accounts. Missed opportunities. Not taking advantage of easy money when it was there. Not knowing when to slow down when market conditions changed.
Keep in mind, I was also a full time student and working full time for most of that period. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
By the time the AI trade really took off in late 2023, I felt ready. It was the next major theme, and I had spent years preparing for an opportunity like that.
That year alone, I made more money than I had ever made or seen in my entire life. It was an unreal feeling, especially coming from being a broke college student.
Looking back, if I hadn’t spent those years learning, failing, and paying my tuition to the market, I probably would have quit long ago.
The truth is, trading sucks 90% of the time. Winning is incredibly difficult, while losing comes naturally to most people.
So take it seriously. Invest in your education. Put in the time.
Because when it finally clicks, it happens fast.
And it can completely change your life.
Once you truly understand the power of compounding, you’ll realize how important it really is.
Most people want the easy way out, which is why they never make meaningful progress. Focus on your own journey and learn from traders whose style aligns with yours.
Stay consistent. Keep stacking small wins.
Your future self will thank you 6 months from now. Imagine where you’ll be a year from now.
