WOW! in Action: Manufacturing Lesson
6th to 8th graders at DECA Middle School got hands-on experience with an assembly line, working together to build balsa wood gliders. These students got an inside look at how manufacturing works.
Students from Dominion Academy in Dayton got an up-close look at a Scanning Electron Microscope with our SEMEDS opportunity. They had the chance to manipulate the machine, ask questions, and learn how the microscope is used in a professional lab setting.
Math meets baking! Pi Day is coming up fast—March 14! How are you planning to celebrate?
Have students measure circumference & diameter with cookies or pies to calculate Pi—a tasty way to explore math!

6th-8th graders at DECA Middle School took a deep dive into civil engineering with a "WOW! on Wheels" Bridges lesson! They explored the history of bridge design and the critical forces of tension and compression that engineers must master.
Engineering in action! DECA Middle Schoolers took on a Reverse Engineering challenge from "WOW! on Wheels." They deconstructed devices and then wrote the manuals for other teams to rebuild them. Awesome for developing critical thinking, writing, and collaboration skills!
