May is National Bicycle Safety Month and according to NHTSA, in 2024, 1,103 bicyclists were killed and an estimated 52,887 were injured in traffic crashes. Here are some tips for both bicyclists and motorists to keep everyone safe. It’s a shared responsibility!
Bicyclists:
-Ride a correctly fitting bicycle as well as a properly fitted helmet
-Drive in the same direction as traffic
-Obey street signs, signals and road markings
-Affix a light or reflectors to be easily seen
