In 1900, it is estimated that ~60% of the worlds population was food insecure. By the end of the 20th century, this had dropped to 12%. Reducing this further faces considerable challenges, not due to the scientific ability to respond, but due to the politicization of risk.
MYTH: GMOs in animal feed are bad for both the animal and the environment.
FACT: Whether animals are given GMO or non-GMO feed, the nutrition and safety are the same. (Pssst … GMOs also allow farmers to grow their crops more sustainably.)
Get the dirt on GMOs & soil health! GMOs have helped:
🐛Reduce pesticide application
🌽Increase crop yields
🚜Reduce tilling, which means more moisture & decreased greenhouse gas emissions.
This tragedy really hit me hard. Growing up playing many sports, your team becomes your family. I will donate $1 for every retweet to help the families affected by this. 💛💚#PrayforHumboldtBroncos#RIP
#prayersforhumbolt What is amazing is how the people of Canada, the second largest geography in the entire world, don't care about anything else right now except for a stretch of road, some wonderful young men and their parents. Canadians at heart are all small town folk.
This has broke hearts Locally, Provincially, Nationally and Globally but we’re all rallying and doing what we can for those affected. If you’re looking to donate here’s the link https://t.co/TDRSZ6q2wI #SaskStrong#PrayForHumboldt
@UofSAgros Currently at the Edmonton oilers game. Missing taking part in bedpush and helping support @Telemiracle. Every retweet or like from this tweet I’ll donate $0.50 to the @UofSAgros and #bedpush2018 until noon March 4th.
