Liverpool stands against the Arms Fair set to take place at @ACCLiverpool in October. Please sign the petition and join the campaign to #StopArmsFairLpool.
At last night's Audit Committee, we read this in the Grant Thornton Audit report:
"We note the lack of consultation concerning the hosting of an arms fair met with opposition from members, whereas prior consultation may have forestalled this event being booked."
People call the Suffragettes' militant tactics heroism.
The establishment call anti-war activists' tactics vandalism.
Funny how people only get perspective with the benefit of hindsight.

@AgainstArms protestors at the Magistrates Court in Liverpool, demonstrating their solidarity with campaigners Ruth Knox and Sue Ferguson, charged for an act of civil disobedience against a monstrous Arms Fair.
Last shout out for tomorrow's demonstration in support of two activists for their role in opposing the @ACC Arms Fair.
Magistrates Court, Derby Square, 9am.
Gibbons said: "They accept the consequences of their action and the judgement of the court. Their motivation is a humanitarian one designed to prevent such events taking place at the ACC ever again.”
Liverpool councillor Alan Gibbons added: “Ruth and Sue protested according to their consciences to bring to the attention of the public the immoral presence of an Arms Fair in this city. In previous generations the Suffragettes and Civil Rights movements used similar tactics."
Scene of the crime
The real crime which took place at the ACC last October was the profiteering from the merchants of death. We hope that Liverpool will follow the lead of the Local Government of Seville and will decide that the city will never host an Arms Fair again.

Liverpool Against the Arms Fair is organising a rally against Arms Sales at 9 00 am on Friday 1 April outside the Law Courts in Derby Square.
Even before Russia invaded Ukraine the CEO of Raytheon told investors that the company expected to see “opportunities for international sales” amid the Russian threat. After the invasion, shares in Raytheon and other arms giants shot up.
This is the link to the draft Ethical Charter, going to Wednesday's full council meeting. Ask yourself if it is strong enough to prevent immoral events such as the ACC Arms Fair or Franklin Graham event.

I raised this question about the damage done to the city by the AOC Arms Fair and Franklin Graham bookings at the @ACCLiverpool.
I look forward to scrutinising the outcome of the current review.
The big question, related to governance, is how both the City Council and the @ACCLiverpool, ensure that no Arms Fairs are staged in this city.
