@DrewfromJersey As jets fans we need to learn to start fading the jets in these situations. We all know they are gonna blow it so might as well at least get paid to suffer

“I don’t need an excuse to go play football.”
Garrett Wilson said he had conversations with Aaron Glenn, Darren Mougey during offseason. They told him the extension was coming — he trusted them. That’s why he was here in OTAs, minicamp (no holdout of hold in).
Added he can’t talk about wanting to make playoffs and turn this around … then not show up. He wanted to be here working.
Again: This is a dude you build around. Jets have him next 6 years. #Jets
Aaron Boone sent Nestor Cortes out into the wilderness of the World Series and then intentionally walked one of the worst #Postseason hitters of our generation to face Freddie Freeman.
Good night. 😂
The #Jets' DVOA rankings are maddening
✅ 3rd-best defense
✅ 4th-best special teams
🥇 Only team top-5 in both
...
yet they are 26th in overall DVOA.
Because of the 32nd-ranked offense.
Here's the catch: They're not just 26th overall because the offense is 32nd.
It's because the offense is behind the rest of the league by a margin so ridiculously large that it is unfathomable even for a 32nd-ranked offense. Even at No. 32, you're not supposed to be this bad.
Here is some perspective on how far behind this offense is from the rest of the NFL.
* Jets' offensive DVOA: -33.7%
* 29th-ranked Browns: -14.8%
* Difference between 32nd-ranked Jets and 29th-ranked Browns = 18.9%.
That's close to the same margin as the one that separates the 5th-ranked Chiefs offense (+16.1%) from the 20th-ranked Saints offense (-2.6%) --- 15 teams apart. That is just how far behind the Jets are from even the league's 29th-ranked offense.
The Jets' offense is so bad that it is redefining what it means to be the 32nd-ranked offense.
Over the previous three seasons (2020-22), the average DVOA of the three 32nd-ranked offenses was -24.7%. A whopping 9.0% better than this year's Jets.
For perspective, 9.0% separates a league-average offense in 2023 (0.0%) from the 23rd-ranked Bears offense (-9.0%).
So, essentially, the gap between a league-average offense and the Bears offense (a pretty big gap!) is the same as the gap between this year's Jets and your typical league-worst offense.
Now here's the wild part.
The Jets' defense and special teams are so good, and their offense is so terrible, that even if their offense improved to the level of the 32nd-ranked offenses from 2020-22, they would be a significantly better team.
Right now, the Jets are 26th in overall DVOA at -15.5%. This is calculated as follows:
-33.7% offense
+15.0% defense
+3.2% special teams
= -15.5% overall
Now if we improve the offense from -33.7% to -24.7% (the average mark of the last three 32nd-ranked offenses prior to 2023), the Jets' overall DVOA would improve all the way to -6.5%.
-24.7% offense
+15.0% defense
+3.2% special teams
= -6.5% overall
Through that change alone, the Jets would move up by four spots to 22nd in overall DVOA (between 21st-ranked Packers at -5.6% and 22nd-ranked Broncos at -7.0%). This likely puts them at 6 or 7 wins right now, considering GB and DEN's records along with Jets' plethora of close low-scoring losses.
Yes, that means the Jets could have added 1 or 2 wins just by being a normal 32nd-ranked offense. That's how bad this offense is. You could take any 32nd-ranked offense from previous seasons and it would be a significant upgrade over this offense.
It's truly one of the worst offenses in NFL history, and considering the excellence of the D/ST, perhaps the costliest offense in the history of the league.
Jets had a chance tonight with the nation watching to establish themselves as a legit AFC playoff contender. Especially against a team that will be fighting for that same wild card spot
Their offense, coaching and overall discipline was shameful
In the course of 5 years, #Jets drafted TWO QBs on the top 3 & traded for Aaron Rodgers & yet somehow today fans are forced to sit here & try to talk ourselves into Trevor Siemian.
If this team isn't cursed, it sure feels like they are.
Damn I knew Sauce was lowkey wholesome from his streams but didn’t know it was to this extent
Sometimes I still cant believe how lucky we are to have @iamSauceGardner 🤩✈️
