@Solyant1@NBCNews Yeah those numbers are shady AF. PS incudes sales of Digital Only, Free PS+, and Free2Play games. So it’s not a 1to1 comparison vs games released physically. If you look into the data from the Naughty Dog data leak https://t.co/SXUoFujOUU you see 1st party sells better on disc.
Sony’s PlayStation Terms of Service state that buying a game doesn’t mean you own the software itself.
According to the agreement, words like “buy,” “purchase,” and “own” don’t transfer ownership of the game’s intellectual property. Instead, you’re given a license to use it, which can be revoked under certain conditions.
That’s why physical game ownership has become a major topic and everyone is fiighting for this
@StopKilingGames
@TheTrueSealYT@PlayStation You are missing the big picture. They want to move to only digital so they can charge more money. The prices will go up. What are you going to do, buy games from a different store? You will pay more and own less. Your choice will be buy or don’t buy.
PlayStation updated its Terms of Service in April 2026, and Section 21 outlines how inactive PSN accounts may be closed.
> If a PSN account remains inactive for 36 months, Sony may begin the account closure process. The account holder will receive an email notification and has 6 months to sign in or request that the account remain active.
> If no action is taken and the account is closed, access to PlayStation Network services will end.
>Any digital purchases tied to that account, including games, DLC, and other digital content, will no longer be accessible.
According to the Terms of Service, this process is irreversible.
@PlayStation Then stop selling digital games for the same price as physical ones too. You're removing the printing, box, and shipping prices from the equation completely so I shouldn't be paying $70 for digital games anymore.
@PlayStation IDK how y’all are gonna sell the PS6 cause everything up till now has pointed to it being one of the most unappealing consoles of all time
