Just go to your work tomorrow and during a crucial meeting sit like this when someone is speaking and see what happens.
If it ends badly just regret the fact that you weren't born to rule and far too important to listen to anyone else's view.
This is the moment MPs shout at @Jacob_Rees_Mogg to 'sit up' after his body language and attitude during the ongoing Brexit debate is criticised by Green Party MP @CarolineLucas.

Welcome to year 1. We hope you enjoy test booklets as we have lots to complete during the year; even though we are fully aware of what your abilities are as we are trained professionals. @EmmaHardyMP @educationgovuk
@SwailesRuth@Sue_Cowley@thepetitioner @yrotitna @Dr_Pam_Jarvis @live_looper @davowillz@iQuirky_Teacher For me it's almost the end of the road. Primary school should be about children acquiring a love of learning and a desire to continue that while gaining core skills. At the moment it is a place of high stakes testing, inappropriate pedagogy, curriculum, stress for children.
@SwailesRuth@Sue_Cowley@thepetitioner @yrotitna @Dr_Pam_Jarvis @live_looper @davowillz@iQuirky_Teacher That was definitely my understanding yet it seems more prevalent that practitioners are being told how they must structure and teach by management. Experience isn't valued - it's easier to mould an nqt and many don't have the awareness of child development to question :-(
@SwailesRuth@Sue_Cowley@thepetitioner @yrotitna @Dr_Pam_Jarvis @live_looper @davowillz@iQuirky_Teacher It's part of a structured daily lesson. I also haven't seen it but as the year 1 teacher to get them, I've been informed they are all now ready for whole class teaching or large group work; small group work and guided work is so last year apparently!
@SwailesRuth@Sue_Cowley@thepetitioner @yrotitna @Dr_Pam_Jarvis @live_looper @davowillz@iQuirky_Teacher I've been shot down in flames several times when referring to research that this is not the case. I've been told that ofsted have clear expectations and we can't be seen to be having lower expectations for our younger children; attainment must be the same-it's non negotiable.
@OHaganCarmel @thepetitioner @louisejkay @live_looper @SwailesRuth@davowillz@iQuirky_Teacher They'd need to get that passed by slt though. I've lost count of the times I've spoken about pedagogy, research and child development and ongoing links to later phases. Falls on deaf ears sadly. Just told formal learning is the way forward if progress is to made!!
@SwailesRuth@chrisdysonHT We used to and it was brilliant - independent learners, happy children and all were keen and loved learning. It's slowly been eroded though and we are now teaching year 1 as though they are year 6; same timetable, whole class teaching, very little differentiation. Awful :-(
