For xmas TBT gets aggro ships and ship damage, with explosions! Things did not go well for this crew. When you armor has failed ballistic rounds will penetrate into the 2D sim and have devastating consequences. Now on to cargo/transport missions

I love RPG games, but after the scripted dialogue ends and the cutscenes fade, the illusion falls away. Turns out they were just puppets all along. That's one of the reasons The Boundary Traveller is compelling. No puppets, just a crew of dumbasses with 8b brains and endless fun
That moment the RPG kicks you back into the world after the credits role and all the characters you've grown to know, laughed and cried over default to one sentence replies and you realize you've spent 50 hours hanging out with a bunch of glorified theme park animatronics.

In the Boundary Traveller universe travel via jump drive has been illegal for non-citizens since the war. Combined with embargoes, the authority has a stranglehold on the system.
The jump drive ban act has however invigorated a vibrant local economy, and black markets. ;)
Today I'm starting work on the first Pirates faction: The Red Vipers. These pirates will be one of the many threats in the system that you must evade to get the job done.

Letting the sim run while I design new systems always yields interesting conversations. In this run everyone decided to talk about some smugglers. The AI Director will analyze crew convos and create new characters and missions dynamically!

In Boundary Traveller ships and stations will have multiple decks (z-levels), and to make travel easy we've developed the Space Lift! This will make travel on-ship easy, until the power goes out and it's back to the maintenance tunnels. #indiedev#godot#gamedev

We're working hard on The Boundary Traveller. We have a lot of new features in the current build, more active agents with new off-duty behaviors, a ship editor, inventory systems, ID cards, space slop, and so much we can't keep track! #gamedev#GodotEngine
For the next month we will be completing the behavior tree for off duty and other behaviors, and then begin working on our transporter missions and finishing the ship sim. You will send your crew to find passengers, who may or may not be secretly antags. Thanks for your support!
Boundary Traveller NPCs are a lot smarter. They now generate their own goals and plan their own off duty behaviors. LLM calls determine their plans and compose function calls to execute them. Next steps here: memory and reflection. #LLM#gamedev#GodotEngine
