I caught this Brown-headed Nuthatch gleaning insects as it worked its way down the tree, pausing occasionally. I think another bird, the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker made those tiny holes below it, and the nuthatch was just checking them for insects stuck in the sap. #birds #nature

Thamana was found by rangers trapped in a drying waterhole in 2018. A rescue, one ride in the back of a land cruiser and a flight later, and he began a new chapter of his life in our care. One that will culminate in his return back to the wild when grown.
