I would expect most lawyers to look through a contract and tell you the cost before doing any work and also explain why it would cost that. All of that is free and then you can make an informed decision. It’s always worth checking

I'm aware "getting a lawyer" feels like it equates to "spending lots of money I don't have" but that's NOT THE CASE. A good lawyer will talk you through stuff before charging. A good lawyer will be upfront with costs. A phone call with a good lawyer isn't going to cost you £1000.

@hanrosefox I think you need to think carefully about positioning though as you'll want to move out the ice cream you won't want to eat. Ice cream hierarchy is going to be vital. Also congratulations!
